Fortnite Mega Man Collab Reportedly Hits Item Shop September 10

Fortnite’s Mega Man collaboration is reportedly set to arrive in the Item Shop on September 10, according to multiple Fortnite leakers. HYPEX and SpushFNBR both independently pointed to the same date on September 8, strengthening the case for a September 10 rollout after earlier datamined scheduling had suggested a different window. Epic Games has officially confirmed the Mega Man crossover itself, but has not announced the Item Shop release date.

The new timing arrives as the collaboration begins moving from encrypted files into active Fortnite content. Epic’s official Chapter 7 Season 4: Override announcement already confirmed Mega Man as one of the franchises getting Item Shop content during the season, alongside Persona 5 Royal, Kingdom Hearts, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Crash Bandicoot and others. Mega Man’s Mega Buster is also already available as part of Override’s Battle Royale gameplay.

A September 10 Item Shop launch would follow the crossover’s competitive rollout. Epic has now officially listed Override Series: Mega Man Cup events for September 8 across multiple regions, including standard Battle Royale, Zero Build and Mobile competitions. The Duos Cups offer Mega Man-themed cosmetic rewards to top-performing players, while securing five eliminations with the Mega Buster awards the Override Buster Blast Spray.

Those official listings provide firmer evidence that the collaboration has entered its release phase, even though they do not confirm the September 10 shop date. Datamined Mega Man Cup reward thresholds and regional placements have also provided a clearer picture of how players can earn crossover cosmetics through competition. Epic’s competitive pages confirm the tournament itself and its September 8 schedule.

The cosmetic lineup has also become considerably clearer over the past several days. Decrypted files have revealed Mega Man, X and Zero as the three main character outfits, resolving earlier uncertainty surrounding the crossover’s three encrypted skins. Additional assets indicate multiple pickaxes, back blings and other accessories, as well as Rush appearing as a Sidekick.

Several alternate styles have also surfaced through datamining. The Mega Man, X and Zero style leak points to options including Atomic Fire for Mega Man, Black Zero and helmet-related variants, alongside settings that appear to remove cel shading from some of the outfits. Those cosmetic details have not all been formally documented by Epic, so their final presentation and bundle structure could still differ when the shop goes live.

Zero was one of the first additional characters to become visible before the full set decrypted. A teaser released ahead of the cosmetic reveal gave players a first look at Zero in the Fortnite collaboration, strengthening earlier speculation that the crossover would draw heavily from the Mega Man X branch of the franchise. Subsequent decrypted material has since made X’s inclusion substantially clearer as well.

The Rush Sidekick has also appeared in decrypted in-game footage, with additional material showing a Rush Jet-themed interaction. Combined with the three outfits, accessories and tournament rewards, the collaboration is shaping up as a significantly larger Item Shop release than Mega Man’s existing gameplay presence alone suggested.

The September 10 date should still be treated as leaked information rather than an official announcement. Epic’s public Fortnite materials confirm Mega Man, the Mega Buster and the September 8 tournament schedule, but the publisher has not yet posted an Item Shop release date for the cosmetic set. Shop scheduling can also change before activation, particularly when dates originate from backend or datamined information.

For now, HYPEX and SpushFNBR are both pointing to September 10 for the Mega Man x Fortnite Item Shop release. If that timing holds, the launch should bring the decrypted Mega Man, X and Zero outfits alongside the broader cosmetic set shortly after the official Mega Man Cups conclude across Fortnite’s regional competitive schedule.
