New Fortnite datamining has revealed a more detailed reward structure for the upcoming Mega Man Cup, including a Mega Man outfit, pickaxe and back bling for top-performing players. Dataminer FireMonkey also uncovered regional placement thresholds for the cosmetics, alongside the previously identified Override Buster Blast Spray challenge. Epic Games has not yet published the full Mega Man Cup rules, although its competitive website now lists Override Series events for September 8.
According to the newly surfaced data, the main cosmetic bundle will be awarded to the top 500 players or teams in Europe, top 350 in NAC and top 100 in NAW. Lower placement thresholds are listed for the remaining competitive regions, although the latest material does not provide enough official context to confirm every cutoff or whether identical thresholds apply across all versions of the event. These requirements could still change before Epic publishes the final rules.
The reward itself is described in the files as containing a Mega Man skin, pickaxe and back bling. Earlier Mega Man Cup imagery appeared to point toward X as a tournament reward, but the newly surfaced text does not by itself resolve whether the underlying reward label refers specifically to X or another Mega Man cosmetic. Until Epic exposes the final item names through the Compete tab or an official rules page, the exact outfit identity should therefore remain treated as unconfirmed.
One reward is considerably clearer. Players who record five eliminations using the Mega Buster are listed as receiving the Override Buster Blast Spray, matching the objective found in the earlier Mega Man Cup tournament datamine. FireMonkey’s latest information also references an additional reward at eight points, though its final cosmetic identity remains unclear from the surfaced data.
Epic’s own competitive website now gives the tournament leak a firmer scheduling anchor. Official Fortnite Competitive pages list Override Series events for September 8 across multiple regions, including Europe, North America, Brazil, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East. The pages currently say “Details Coming Soon,” meaning Epic has acknowledged the Override Series event slots but has not publicly identified them as the Mega Man Cup or disclosed their rewards.
There is also an unresolved format discrepancy. Previously datamined Mega Man Cup text explicitly tells players to “Duo up,” suggesting a Duos competition, while Fortnite’s current September 8 Override Series pages are labelled as Solos. That could reflect incomplete website metadata, different event variants, or a change made since the tournament text was added to the files, so the final format cannot yet be treated as settled.
The tournament forms part of a broader Mega Man rollout taking place during Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Fortnite’s encrypted crossover package has been reported to contain three playable outfits, multiple pickaxes, back blings and other cosmetics, while the Rush Sidekick has also been discovered as part of the set. Recent decrypted material has begun providing a clearer look at those cosmetics as the collaboration approaches its expected Item Shop release.
Zero has also appeared in recent teaser material, expanding the crossover beyond the classic Blue Bomber and strengthening expectations that multiple branches of the Mega Man franchise are represented. However, neither Zero’s appearance nor previous X-related imagery establishes which specific character will be tied to competitive placement. The new reward data confirms a three-item competitive package more clearly than it confirms the character attached to it.
For now, the strongest picture is that Fortnite’s Mega Man-themed Override Series event is approaching on September 8, with a placement-based skin, pickaxe and back bling bundle plus the Override Buster Blast Spray for five Mega Buster eliminations. FireMonkey’s datamine supplies the regional thresholds, while Epic’s own competitive site independently confirms Override Series events are scheduled for that date. The remaining questions are the final format, complete regional cutoffs and exact cosmetic identities, all of which should become clearer once Epic publishes the tournament rules.
