Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis are now live ahead of the game’s February 12, 2027 release. Nintendo confirmed the new pre-order availability during its September 9 Direct, closing the gap left by the game’s earlier announcement when Switch 2 pre-orders had been promised for a later date. The standard Switch 2 edition is listed at $59.99 in the US Nintendo eShop.

Standard Edition pre-orders include an early unlock for the Survivor Outfit. Players choosing the Deluxe Edition also receive 48-hour early launch access, the Parisian Fugitive Outfit and a post-launch DLC Story Pack alongside the base game. Nintendo lists the Deluxe Edition for release on February 10, reflecting the two-day early-access period before the standard February 12 launch.

The Switch 2 version had already been confirmed alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam when Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games announced the February release date in June. At the time, digital pre-orders opened on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, but the official Tomb Raider site specifically said Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders would become available later. The September Direct now marks that next step for Nintendo players.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full reimagining of the original 1996 Tomb Raider rather than a remaster. Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog are rebuilding Lara Croft’s first adventure in Unreal Engine 5 with redesigned environments, modernized combat and movement, expanded puzzles and new surprises while retaining the basic structure and atmosphere of the original game. Lara’s journey again takes her through locations including Peru, Greece, Egypt and a mysterious Mediterranean island as she searches for the pieces of the Scion.

The developers have emphasized that environments are being expanded rather than simply recreated with newer assets. Areas that were comparatively self-contained in the 1996 game have been opened up into more interconnected spaces, giving players additional routes and different ways to approach puzzles and exploration. Familiar sequences are also being reworked to fit the newer scale and mechanics instead of being reproduced one-for-one.

Legacy of Atlantis is one of two major Tomb Raider projects currently in development. The other is Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a separate new adventure that is expected later than originally anticipated. Legacy of Atlantis instead focuses on Lara’s beginnings, making it an entry point for players unfamiliar with the original game while also revisiting one of the series’ most recognizable stories.

The Switch 2 version is being developed as a dedicated release rather than a cloud-streamed edition. Nintendo’s store page lists touchscreen support and surround sound, with an estimated download size of 58.6 GB. More detailed technical specifications such as final resolution and frame-rate targets have not yet been published, so it remains unclear how closely the Switch 2 presentation will match the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions.

Pre-order availability also gives Nintendo players access to the same core launch incentives being offered elsewhere. The Survivor Outfit is included with both Standard and Deluxe pre-orders, while the Deluxe version adds the Parisian Fugitive Outfit, early access and the story DLC. The exact release timing for the post-launch Story Pack has not been announced, although Nintendo currently lists it as planned for spring 2027.

The February release places Legacy of Atlantis among a growing group of major third-party games targeting Switch 2 in early 2027. Nintendo has continued expanding the system’s lineup with both new releases and ports that would have been difficult to deliver on the original Switch, including Cairn’s Switch 2 release during the same broader window.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches February 12, 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. With Switch 2 pre-orders now open, all of the game’s announced platforms have moved closer to launch after Nintendo’s version initially lagged behind the other storefronts.
