Cyberpunk 2077 players on Nintendo Switch 2 are reporting crashes, loading errors, performance problems and save-related glitches following the release of Update 2.5, also known as the Edgerunners 2 update. The problems emerged shortly after the patch became available on Nintendo’s console, with some players reporting that they can no longer reach the game’s main menu.
The stability issues extend beyond individual complaints. Nintendo Life independently tested the updated Switch 2 version and confirmed encountering bugs, including game crashes. Other reported problems, such as profile glitches, loading failures and degraded performance, are based on player experiences and have not all been independently reproduced.
One player posting on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit reported that the game repeatedly crashes upon reaching the title screen after installing version 2.5. Other players described lower frame rates, inconsistent performance and problems accessing the game’s new mod features. However, experiences are not uniform, with some users reporting that the updated game remains playable despite occasional glitches.

Additional player reports mention problems with character equipment, cloud saves and graphics settings. One Switch 2 owner described difficulties synchronizing saves with PlayStation 5, while another reported being unable to switch between the game’s graphics modes. These accounts suggest several potentially separate issues rather than one confirmed underlying fault.
The problems follow the staggered rollout of Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, which initially launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 22, 2026. CD Projekt Red had announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version would arrive later, with the patch subsequently becoming available on the platform.
Update 2.5 introduces several major gameplay additions, including dual-wielding pistols, cross-platform mod support and new quests inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. It also adds a console field-of-view slider, improvements to inventory management and various technical changes.
Notably, the official patch notes included a specific Nintendo Switch 2 fix for an existing problem that could incorrectly prevent players from saving their progress by displaying an insufficient-storage error. The newly reported save and profile problems have not been established as the same issue.
For Switch 2 owners, the most significant concern is the possibility of crashes preventing access to the game or interrupting existing playthroughs. Players who have not installed the update may prefer to monitor further reports before updating, particularly if they are concerned about stability or save compatibility.
CD Projekt Red maintains a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 technical support section covering crashes, performance and save-related troubleshooting. However, the available information does not establish whether the developer has identified the cause of the new problems or scheduled a corrective patch.
The extent of the issues remains unclear. Although crashes have been independently reproduced and multiple players have reported difficulties, there is currently insufficient evidence to determine how widely Update 2.5 affects the Switch 2 player base.
