LEVEL-5 has confirmed that Holy Horror Mansion will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The announcement was made during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II on September 10, finally giving the company’s upcoming Ghost Craft RPG both a release window and confirmed platforms. Until now, LEVEL-5 had deliberately kept those details undisclosed while continuing to show the project in development.
Holy Horror Mansion was first unveiled in September 2024 as one of LEVEL-5’s largest cross-media projects. The company has described it as a new entertainment property built around games and other forms of media rather than simply another standalone RPG. Its official premise follows a young protagonist living in a mansion situated on top of an apartment building owned by his grandmother.
The story begins when the protagonist discovers a mysterious camera inside a locked room. Using it leads to an encounter with a ghost and draws him into a series of supernatural incidents across the surrounding town. LEVEL-5 has repeatedly characterized the project as a heartwarming family story despite its horror theme, positioning the supernatural elements alongside the colorful style associated with many of the studio’s earlier RPGs.

LEVEL-5 calls the game a “Ghost Craft RPG,” reflecting the central role that spirits and supernatural phenomena are expected to play. Earlier footage showed the protagonist exploring town environments and using the camera to investigate ghostly activity. The company has not yet provided a complete breakdown of the final gameplay loop, however, and several systems shown during development could still change before release.
The studio offered another look at Holy Horror Mansion during its April 2026 LEVEL5 VISION presentation. That trailer provided more in-development footage but ended by indicating that the project was still some distance from completion. At that stage, LEVEL-5 still declined to commit to either platforms or a launch year, making the new 2027 confirmation the most concrete scheduling update the game has received so far.
The newly confirmed platform lineup is also notable for skipping older hardware. Holy Horror Mansion is currently announced only for PS5, Switch 2 and PC, with no PS4 or original Nintendo Switch version listed. That gives LEVEL-5 more room to target current-generation hardware as development continues through 2027, although the company has not yet detailed any platform-specific visual or performance differences.
Holy Horror Mansion has frequently been discussed in connection with Yo-kai Watch because of its supernatural creatures and LEVEL-5’s description of the project as representing a new direction for that style of entertainment. It is nevertheless being presented as its own property rather than a numbered Yo-kai Watch sequel. LEVEL-5 has emphasized the wider cross-media ambitions around the game, with additional merchandise and media initiatives forming part of the overall project.
The 2027 window places Holy Horror Mansion among a growing lineup of next-year releases targeting Nintendo’s newer hardware. Games such as Onyx : The Dark Grip are also scheduled to bring supernatural themes to Switch 2 during 2027, while LEVEL-5 itself has several major projects spread across the same period. Holy Horror Mansion remains distinctive within that lineup because it is being developed as a new cross-media franchise rather than an adaptation or sequel.
A specific month or day has not yet been announced, so LEVEL-5 still has considerable flexibility within the 2027 window. Pricing, editions and final system requirements also remain unconfirmed. Additional information about the game’s mechanics and wider media plans is expected as development progresses.
For now, the September showcase answers two of the biggest questions surrounding Holy Horror Mansion. The Ghost Craft RPG is officially targeting 2027, and players will be able to find it on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. After two years of intentionally vague release information, LEVEL-5 has finally placed its ambitious supernatural project on a defined launch path.
