Trinity Trigger DX is now available for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing FuRyu’s action RPG to Nintendo’s newer hardware in a package that includes the base game and previously released downloadable content. The new edition launched digitally worldwide through the Nintendo eShop with a 50% introductory discount, reducing the price from $49.99 to $24.99. The discount is scheduled to run until October 12.

FuRyu describes DX as the definitive version of Trinity Trigger, bundling several extras that were previously distributed separately. The package includes an Extra Episode Set with additional story material, a Weapon Set that gives players more equipment at the beginning of the game, an All-in-One Item Set containing shards and upgrade materials, and Dad’s Keepsakes, an item that increases experience gained. Those additions are included from the start rather than being sold separately for the Switch 2 release.

Trinity Trigger originally launched in Japan in September 2022 before reaching North America and Europe in 2023. Developed by Three Rings, the game was previously released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, with mobile versions following later. The Switch 2 edition is being published directly by FuRyu rather than through the original Western publishing arrangements.

The game follows Cyan, Elise and Zantis as they travel across the continent of Trinitia after Cyan discovers that he has been chosen as the Warrior of Chaos. Its story centers on a conflict between the Gods of Order and the Gods of Chaos, with the three protagonists attempting to resist the fate assigned to them. The adventure is presented as a classic-style fantasy action RPG inspired by 1990s genre design.

Combat revolves around eight different weapon types, including swords, spears and other equipment that can be changed using the Weapon Wheel. Enemy weaknesses encourage frequent switching rather than relying on a single weapon throughout a fight. Players can also explore hidden routes in the environment, collect materials and speak with NPCs for clues about secret areas and progression.

Trinity Trigger also supports local cooperative multiplayer for up to three players. Each participant can directly control one member of the party, allowing the group to divide combat roles while exploring and fighting bosses together. The Switch 2 release retains that multiplayer structure rather than redesigning the game around the newer hardware.

One notable limitation is that save data from the original Nintendo Switch version does not transfer to Trinity Trigger DX on Switch 2. Players moving from the earlier release therefore need to begin a new save if they purchase the DX edition. FuRyu has also not announced an upgrade path that converts ownership of the original Switch version into the new Switch 2 release.

The new version is currently listed as a digital release on the Nintendo eShop. Its download size is approximately 4 GB, and the store supports TV, tabletop and handheld play modes. English and Japanese language support are included.

Trinity Trigger DX arrives as part of a wider wave of publishers bringing existing RPGs to Switch 2 with bundled content or upgraded editions. In this case, FuRyu is positioning the release primarily as a complete package rather than a major technical remake, with the main selling point being the inclusion of the game’s existing DLC and availability on Nintendo’s current hardware.

Trinity Trigger DX is available now for Nintendo Switch 2. The launch discount lowers the digital price to $24.99 until October 12, after which it is scheduled to return to its standard $49.99 price.
