Noroi Ayashi: The ∞th Oddity has been announced for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with a worldwide release planned for 2027. Publisher Game Source Entertainment and developers SuperNiche and Clover Lab describe the game as a time-loop horror real-time stealth action adventure centered on escaping a cursed school. English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese language support has also been confirmed.

The story follows Seira, a member of the U High School Journalism Club who enters the school at midnight after the mysterious death of a close friend. Seira and her fellow club members had been investigating the urban legend of a cursed doll named Aya after receiving a diary from their friend’s bereaved family. Once inside the building, Seira becomes separated from the others and is forced to survive the school alone.

Seven Mysteries are scattered throughout the building, and each has its own method of avoidance and a specific procedure required to seal it. Players will need to explore dark classrooms and corridors, search for clues and learn how each supernatural threat behaves rather than simply confronting it directly. The focus is therefore on observation, route planning and survival rather than conventional combat.

Death is also built directly into the progression structure. Game Source Entertainment says surviving a first encounter is effectively impossible, with repeated failures intended to teach players which actions are necessary and which can be removed from a run. Knowledge gathered across those deaths can then be used to create increasingly efficient routes through the school, eventually allowing Seira to break the loop.

That structure gives Noroi Ayashi a strong speedrun-style element despite its horror presentation. The publisher describes it as an “RTA” stealth action adventure, referring to real-time attack-style play in which players optimize routes and execution. Instead of treating each death as a simple restart, the game appears designed around gradually reducing wasted movement and turning repeated failure into practical information.

The project also has several notable creators attached. Rensuke Oshikiri, the manga artist behind Hi Score Girl as well as horror works including Sayuri and LiverLeaf, is involved with the game. Sohei Niikawa, who previously worked at Nippon Ichi Software on series including Disgaea and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure before leaving the company in 2022, is also part of the development team under the name Roman Kitayama.

Noroi Ayashi joins a growing group of horror projects already scheduled for Nintendo’s newer hardware in 2027. Bloober Team is also bringing supernatural horror game Onyx: The Dark Grip exclusively to Switch 2, while LEVEL-5’s Holy Horror Mansion is heading to Switch 2, PS5 and PC. Noroi Ayashi differs from both by retaining support for the original Switch alongside the newer console.

The confirmed character lineup currently includes Seira, Hime and Tae, all members of the school’s Journalism Club. Hime is described as headstrong and independent, while Tae serves as club president and is driven by an intense curiosity. More information about the other characters, the Seven Mysteries and Aya’s role in the loop is expected closer to launch.

Game Source Entertainment has not announced a more specific release date, pricing or whether physical editions are planned. The Steam version is already listed alongside the Switch and Switch 2 releases, with all three platforms targeting 2027.

Noroi Ayashi: The ∞th Oddity is therefore shaping up as a horror game built around learning rather than brute force. Repeated deaths, unique supernatural rules and increasingly optimized escape routes form the core of its loop, while its school setting and cursed-doll story provide the traditional Japanese horror framework around those systems.
