Evidence for a Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover in Fortnite has grown significantly stronger ahead of Fortnitemares 2026, with new map changes reinforcing earlier datamines tying the horror franchise to Epic Games’ Halloween event. Fortnite leaker SpushFNBR described the crossover as confirmed on September 16, following weeks of clues surrounding a suspicious pizzeria-style building on the Chapter 7 Season 4 island. Epic Games has still not formally announced FNAF for Fortnite, however, so the collaboration should technically remain classified as leaked rather than officially confirmed.

The strongest evidence began with files uncovered from the wider Epic Games ecosystem earlier this month. Dataminers reported references to “Haunted Hallows 2026: Five Nights at Freddy’s” inside Rocket League data, along with an “I Always Come Back” Player Title, a phrase closely associated with William Afton. While those files directly connect FNAF to Rocket League’s Halloween plans rather than Fortnite, established leakers subsequently claimed the franchise would also appear during Fortnitemares.

Fortnite itself has been laying visual groundwork since Chapter 7 Season 4 began. Players quickly noticed an unfinished building near Battlewoods whose layout resembles the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location associated with Five Nights at Freddy’s. The building includes a performance stage and other architectural details that prompted comparisons with the pizzeria long before any explicit FNAF branding appeared.

Upcoming map changes have now made those comparisons harder to dismiss. Assets associated with the next Fortnite update show the unfinished location continuing to develop, including signage and structural details that players and dataminers say more closely resemble a Freddy Fazbear restaurant. Earlier previews of the update had already shown that the building would receive further work, suggesting Epic is deliberately transforming the location over several patches rather than leaving it as generic scenery.

That gradual rollout fits Fortnite’s established approach to major seasonal crossovers. Epic often changes locations in stages before an event or collaboration becomes fully active, allowing environmental teasers to appear before cosmetics, quests or gameplay features are announced. The current season is also heavily centered on gaming crossovers, with franchises including Pac-Man receiving new Fortnite content and additional game characters appearing across the season.

Five Nights at Freddy’s would therefore fit both Chapter 7 Season 4’s gaming theme and the timing of Fortnitemares. Epic has not yet revealed what form the crossover could take, meaning there is currently no reliable confirmation of specific Outfits, Back Blings, emotes, weapons or playable animatronics. The map evidence instead points most strongly toward some kind of themed pizzeria location, while the earlier leak establishes a broader Halloween connection.

There are additional circumstantial signs around the collaboration. The official Five Nights at Freddy’s social account teased an unspecified partnership in August, shortly after Fortnite’s new season introduced the mysterious building. Around the same time, Fortnite community members noticed increasing overlap between the franchise’s imagery and the unfinished location, although neither that teaser nor social-media interactions between people involved with Fortnite and FNAF constitute confirmation on their own.

The crossover would also arrive during a particularly collaboration-heavy stretch for Fortnite. Recent datamines have exposed additional characters and assets tied to multiple gaming properties, including Persona 5 and Crash Bandicoot Sprites found in current Fortnite files. Epic appears to be using Season 4 to cycle through a broad selection of video game franchises before and during the Halloween period.

Fortnitemares 2026 is currently expected to begin in early October, but Epic has not announced a date for any FNAF-specific content. That leaves open whether the pizzeria transformation will be completed immediately when the event begins or continue developing during Fortnitemares itself.

At this stage, the evidence for Five Nights at Freddy’s appearing in Fortnite is substantially stronger than the original pizzeria speculation from August. Datamined Halloween references, the season’s gaming focus and continued changes to the suspicious map location all point in the same direction. Until Epic Games or the official FNAF account names Fortnite directly, though, the crossover remains an extremely well-supported leak rather than a formally announced collaboration.
