Fortnite’s latest update appears to contain new crossover Sprites based on Persona 5 and Crash Bandicoot. Dataminers ShiinaBR and SpushFNBR uncovered the assets on September 16, identifying the Persona 5 Sprite as Morgana alongside a separate Crash Bandicoot Sprite. Neither has been formally announced by Epic Games, so their release timing and gameplay abilities remain unconfirmed.

The discovery is more concrete than earlier speculation around the two collaborations because the assets have now been found within Fortnite’s updated files. Crash had previously been referenced in datamined Sprite information, while Morgana had been associated primarily with Persona 5’s wider crossover through promotional imagery and reports of a companion cosmetic. The latest findings indicate that both franchises are also being represented through Fortnite’s collectible Sprite system.

Persona 5 Royal and Crash Bandicoot are already officially part of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Epic Games named both franchises among the gaming collaborations planned throughout the season, alongside Kingdom Hearts, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and others. Fortnite’s official season material has therefore established the crossovers themselves, although Epic has not publicly detailed every associated cosmetic or Sprite.

Morgana has been linked to the Persona collaboration for weeks. Official Override imagery showed the Persona 5 character alongside the season’s gaming-themed content, while subsequent leaks also connected him to a vehicle based on the Morgana Bus. A Morgana Bus decal leak also pointed to Ann Takamaki being involved in the broader Persona 5 rollout.

The newly uncovered Sprite should not be confused with a Sidekick. Fortnite treats Sprites as collectible gameplay creatures that can provide effects during Battle Royale matches, while Sidekicks are cosmetic companions that follow players without providing a competitive advantage. Morgana had previously been discussed as a possible Sidekick, meaning Epic could potentially use the character in more than one form if both versions ultimately release.

Crash Bandicoot’s Sprite has a similar distinction from the existing crossover cosmetics. Crash himself has already appeared as part of Override’s gaming collaboration lineup, with Spyro also associated with the crossover. Dataminers had previously found references to a Crash Sprite in Fortnite’s files, but the newly surfaced asset gives the project another tangible sign that Epic is continuing to develop it.

Epic has not revealed what either Sprite will actually do in matches. Current Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites can grant effects ranging from movement changes to defensive or combat-related benefits, with abilities becoming more useful as players level and master them. Any claims about Morgana or Crash providing a specific power remain speculative until their gameplay data is confirmed or Epic publishes official descriptions.

The additions fit closely with Override’s broader design. Chapter 7 Season 4 brought an entirely new generation of Sprites to Battle Royale and introduced the Sprite Garden, where players can display and interact with their collections. Epic has continued adding more creatures and variants through updates, including crossover Sprites tied to gaming properties such as Mega Man.

The season has increasingly used those creatures as another way to incorporate gaming franchises beyond conventional Outfits and Item Shop bundles. Pac-Man is similarly expanding beyond Fortnite’s older cosmetics, with new Pac-Man crossover content arriving around September 18, while Mega Man has received both character cosmetics and gameplay representation during Override.

Persona 5’s full Fortnite release is still developing. Joker was featured prominently in Override’s reveal campaign, and Epic has confirmed Persona 5 Royal content will arrive during the season, but a complete release schedule has not been published. The discovery of Morgana’s Sprite suggests additional Persona content is already being prepared behind the scenes, though its presence in the files does not guarantee an immediate release.

The same caveat applies to Crash Bandicoot. Fortnite routinely includes assets before they become available, and some datamined material can remain dormant, change or be removed before release. For now, the important new development is that Persona 5’s Morgana and Crash Bandicoot have both been identified as Sprites within Fortnite’s current files, adding another layer to two crossovers Epic had already confirmed for Chapter 7 Season 4.
