Astrae Oratio will launch for iOS and Android in 2027, with a newly announced PC version set to follow afterward. Publisher NCSOFT and developer Dynamis One confirmed the release plan alongside the game’s appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where attendees can play its first public demo. A specific mobile launch date and timing for the PC version have not yet been announced.
The PC edition is the biggest new platform announcement, as Astrae Oratio had previously been presented primarily as a mobile RPG. NCSOFT has not said whether the PC version will arrive simultaneously across all regions or how long after the iOS and Android release players will have to wait. Pricing and monetization details also remain unannounced.
Astrae Oratio is described as a “shindenki magic RPG” set in a fictional version of Tokyo in 1989, where magic exists alongside everyday life. Players take the role of a public official known as the Shunin, who works within the Special District Office, an organization responsible for administrating and overseeing magic users. The story follows the Shunin as different incidents bring them into contact with magicians operating throughout the city.

Dynamis One says the game is designed to combine story, artwork and combat into a single ongoing experience rather than treating narrative and battles as separate systems. Character-driven scenes use a visual-novel-inspired presentation, while individual magicians have distinct fighting styles tied to their personalities, backgrounds and the districts in which they operate. Game director Jong-gyu Lim said the studio plans to continue expanding Astrae Oratio through live-service updates with additional stories and characters.
Combat combines turn-based structure with real-time decision-making. Enemies telegraph their next actions, and players select skills or swap characters using a Tag system in response before each exchange resolves. The system therefore places an emphasis on reading incoming attacks and selecting an appropriate counter rather than simply choosing a fixed attack sequence.
Each round is divided into an action phase and an engage phase. During the first, players select responses based on what the enemy is preparing, while the engage phase resolves those decisions. Normal enemy actions can be challenged with several skill types, but preemptive and unstoppable attacks require different responses, including timed counter skills or preparation for damage that cannot be prevented outright.
Winning clashes also fills a Dominion Gauge. Once charged, the active character can trigger a Declaration of Dominion, applying a character-specific effect for a limited number of rounds. That adds another layer of team-building and timing, as players can decide which character’s Dominion effect best suits the situation before committing to it.
The Tokyo Game Show 2026 demo gives the public its first opportunity to play Astrae Oratio. The build includes the Prologue, part of the Minato Arc storyline and training content that teaches the core combat mechanics. Players can also encounter 12 magicians drawn from four groups operating across different areas of Tokyo, including the Magical Activities of the Minato Girls, Seiran Fellowship, Akina Urban Legend Research Institute and Rose of Bunkyo.
NCSOFT is also using the Tokyo Game Show appearance to emphasize Astrae Oratio’s setting and narrative presentation. The demo’s story sequences feature everyday Tokyo environments, period-specific electronics and other details intended to evoke the game’s fictional 1989 setting. The Minato Arc includes a short narrative segment centered on Tanaka Erin before transitioning into the game’s illustrated visual-novel presentation.
Astrae Oratio has been gradually expanding its public presence throughout 2026. NCSOFT formally revealed the title after it had previously been known as Project AT, later releasing character information, worldbuilding material and gameplay footage before opening recruitment for a closed beta test. Tokyo Game Show marks the first playable public showing of the project.
The game is now scheduled to launch on iOS and Android sometime in 2027, with PC following afterward. NCSOFT has not announced a specific release date for either version, but the addition of PC confirms that Astrae Oratio will extend beyond its originally announced mobile platforms.
