Total Mayhem Games will launch We Were Here Tomorrow on October 20, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The studio confirmed the date alongside a new release-date trailer showing more of the game’s retro-futuristic Norček Industries facility, where two players must communicate and cooperate through a new set of asymmetrical puzzles. Crossplay will be supported across all three platforms.
The standard edition will cost $19.99, €19.99 or £16.99 at launch, with a 10 percent launch discount planned. Total Mayhem Games is also preparing a Fan Edition on Steam that bundles additional downloadable content with the official soundtrack, while the soundtrack will be sold separately. The developer has not yet detailed every extra included with the Fan Edition.
Total Mayhem Games says We Were Here Tomorrow contains around 15 hours of content, making it the largest entry in the series so far. The new trailer highlights several of the systems players will encounter inside Norček Industries, including unfamiliar tools, character-specific roles and puzzles that require each player to interpret different information. As with previous games in the series, communication remains central, with the two Explorers frequently separated and relying on their walkie-talkies.

The story begins after the pair become trapped beneath the Antarctic ice while attempting to save their fellow Explorers. They awaken inside a Norček Industries facility with limited memories of what happened, where Director Kathleen Bowe asks them to continue work left unfinished by her missing research team. A wider crisis is approaching, giving the pair a reason to investigate the facility while completing increasingly complicated assignments.
Tomorrow also shifts the visual direction of the series away from the medieval and Antarctic environments associated with earlier entries. The facility is built around a vision of the future imagined through an 1980s lens, combining industrial spaces with retro technology and a synthwave-influenced presentation. Total Mayhem Games has said the game still contains familiar references and connections to the established We Were Here universe despite the new setting.
Each player will take on a distinct role during the campaign, with different tools and pieces of information required to solve puzzles. The developer says neither participant will have everything needed to complete a challenge alone, preserving the asymmetrical structure that defines the franchise. Some puzzles will also manipulate concepts such as time, gravity and space, broadening the types of cooperative problems players encounter.
We Were Here Tomorrow was previously confirmed for an October release during Gamescom, but the October 20 date now gives the project a specific launch point. The game will arrive one week after Total War: SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition launches on October 13, placing it in an increasingly busy October release calendar. Total Mayhem Games is positioning Tomorrow as a substantially larger installment rather than a smaller side entry in the co-op puzzle series.
The We Were Here franchise has built its identity around two-player communication puzzles, often forcing partners to describe symbols, machinery and environmental clues that only one person can see. Tomorrow retains that foundation while introducing the Norček storyline, new tools and more elaborate character roles. The studio says the series has reached more than 25 million players across its previous releases.
We Were Here Tomorrow launches October 20 on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $19.99, with cross-platform multiplayer enabled at release. Total Mayhem Games describes the approximately 15-hour adventure as its largest We Were Here game yet, with the release-date trailer offering the clearest look so far at how the series’ communication-driven puzzles are evolving inside Norček Industries.
