Fortnite is officially getting a new Chun-Li Outfit based on Callina Liang’s portrayal of the character in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie. The official Street Fighter movie account confirmed the crossover on October 4, announcing that the Callina Liang version of Chun-Li will arrive in Fortnite on October 10. The reveal confirms part of a collaboration that had surfaced through Fortnite leaks a day earlier.
The announcement is specifically tied to the 2026 Street Fighter film rather than the existing game-based Street Fighter cosmetics already available in Fortnite. Callina Liang plays Chun-Li in the movie, with the film’s official website listing her alongside Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and a wider ensemble cast. Street Fighter is scheduled to open in theaters on October 16, meaning the Fortnite Outfit will arrive six days before the movie’s release.
That distinction makes the upcoming cosmetic a separate interpretation of Chun-Li from the version Epic Games previously brought to Fortnite. Ryu and Chun-Li originally joined the game as part of Fortnite’s Street Fighter collaboration, followed later by additional fighters including Cammy and Guile. Epic’s Fortnite Item Shop listings have also featured Sakura and Blanka, giving the Capcom series one of the larger fighting-game rosters represented in Fortnite.

The new Outfit instead uses Liang’s live-action Chun-Li design from the movie. Promotional material for the film depicts the actress in a costume inspired by Chun-Li’s familiar blue look while adapting the character for the movie’s 1993 setting. The official film synopsis places Chun-Li at the center of the story, recruiting Ryu and Ken for the World Warrior Tournament before the pair become caught up in a wider conspiracy.
An October 10 crossover had already been spotted before the official announcement. Fortnite dataminers reported that material connected to the Street Fighter movie was pointing toward that date, while images from the movie’s presence at ComplexCon also showed Fortnite and Street Fighter branding alongside an October 10 date. At that stage, however, the collaboration had not yet received direct confirmation from the film’s official account.
Earlier reports also suggested that the collaboration could contain more than one Outfit. Dataminers had pointed to one male and one female character and speculated that the pair could be Chun-Li and Ken, based on available information surrounding the encrypted cosmetics. Only Liang’s Chun-Li has now been explicitly confirmed, so any additional Street Fighter movie characters should still be treated as unconfirmed until they are announced or appear in Fortnite.
The announcement does not yet provide pricing, a complete cosmetic set or details about whether the Outfit will include alternate styles, Back Bling, Pickaxes or other accessories. It also remains unclear whether Epic plans a larger in-game promotion around the movie or if the collaboration will primarily consist of Item Shop cosmetics. Those details are likely to become clearer as the October 10 release approaches.
The timing gives Paramount, Capcom and Legendary a Fortnite tie-in immediately before the movie reaches theaters. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and features a large cast drawn from across the Street Fighter roster, including Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Joe Anoa’i as Akuma and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog.
For Fortnite players, the confirmation also means Chun-Li will soon have two distinctly different representations in the game: the established game-inspired Outfit and the new live-action version modeled after Liang’s movie appearance. The Street Fighter movie Chun-Li Outfit is currently scheduled to arrive on October 10, with further details on the rest of the crossover still to be announced.
