Kena: Scars of Kosmora has surfaced on Exophase with a full Steam achievement entry ahead of its still-undated release on PlayStation 5 and PC. The tracker currently lists 38 achievements for Ember Lab’s upcoming sequel, with no players tracked and no achievements earned, indicating the data appeared before the game became publicly playable. Sony and Ember Lab have not announced a specific launch date.
The discovery is significant because achievement data generally needs to exist on Steam’s backend before third-party tracking services can display it. Exophase identifies the set specifically as the Steam version of Kena: Scars of Kosmora and currently shows 38 total achievements. However, the appearance of the list should not be treated as evidence that the game is launching imminently, as achievement data can be uploaded well before release.
A similar situation recently occurred when Steam achievement sets for Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival surfaced ahead of those games’ releases. Backend achievement data can sometimes expose progression structure, collectibles, combat challenges or story milestones before publishers formally detail them. In Kena’s case, the presence of the set itself is verifiable, but any potentially spoiler-heavy achievement descriptions should be treated cautiously until the complete data can be independently examined.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora was officially announced during Sony’s February 2026 State of Play. The sequel is being developed by Ember Lab and published on PC by PlayStation Publishing, with both PlayStation 5 and PC versions planned for 2026. Steam currently lists the game simply as “Coming soon,” while PlayStation’s own store page says its release date is still to be determined.
The sequel follows an older and more experienced Kena as she travels to the island of Kosmora seeking answers about the affliction she has lived with since childhood. After encountering a powerful spirit that fractures her staff, Kena is forced to learn a dangerous form of Spirit Guiding that uses alchemy and elemental powers. Ember Lab has said this forms the basis for expanded combat, traversal and puzzle mechanics.
Elemental Spirit Companions are one of the sequel’s major new systems. Each companion is connected to a specific element and can grow stronger as Kena develops her bond with it, unlocking abilities that can be used both in combat and while navigating the island. The developer has also promised more demanding encounters and large boss fights built around Kena’s expanded toolkit.
Kosmora itself is described as a larger adventure composed of tightly designed regions rather than a completely open world. Different areas contain their own communities, temples and buried history, with Kena working to cleanse a powerful corruption spreading across the island. Official screenshots have already shown locations including Tahra Temple, Nukai Alley and several large outdoor environments.
The new Exophase entry does not reveal anything about the final release date. Achievement sets can be prepared as part of certification, testing or general storefront setup, and games can remain unreleased for months after those records appear. The strongest conclusion at this stage is simply that the Steam achievement infrastructure for Kena: Scars of Kosmora is now present and contains 38 entries.
Sony’s current public material continues to list Kena: Scars of Kosmora for PlayStation 5 and PC in 2026, while Steam has not been updated with a more precise window. If the achievement descriptions themselves become publicly accessible in full, they could provide a much clearer picture of progression, optional challenges and possibly unannounced encounters. For now, the backend discovery offers another sign that development and platform preparation for Ember Lab’s sequel are continuing ahead of release.
