Newly uncovered planning documents reveal the scale of Rockstar Games’ GTA VI installation planned for the roof of Miami’s Kaseya Center, including nearly 4,700 square feet of branding, thousands of pounds of structural steel and helicopter-assisted installation. The documents were located and reviewed by iGrandTheftAuto, providing considerably more detail about a project that had already been spotted under construction beside the Miami Heat arena. The finished installation is designed around “Welcome To” lettering, the familiar Vice City script and GTA VI branding.

According to the plans, the individual sign elements total approximately 4,690 square feet. The “Welcome To” section accounts for 443 square feet, the much larger “Vice City” lettering covers 4,017 square feet, and the VI logo occupies another 230 square feet. Supporting the installation will require roughly 21,000 pounds, or about 9,525 kilograms, of additional structural steel attached to the arena’s existing rooftop framework.

Getting those structures onto the Kaseya Center is itself a substantial operation. Engineering drawings describe multiple helicopter lifts in which preassembled sections of signage and supporting beams are carried onto the roof before being secured to the existing steel structure. At least two planned lifts are listed at approximately 4,200 pounds and 4,950 pounds respectively, with custom rigging brackets used during the operation before being removed once the sections are fixed in place.

That installation method helps explain why enormous pieces of the sign have recently been photographed being assembled at ground level beside the arena. Images circulating from Miami showed pink and white lettering arranged near the Kaseya Center well before the finished rooftop display was visible. The new paperwork provides the structural context behind those sightings rather than relying solely on photographs and speculation about what was being built.

A Letter of Intent associated with the project also connects the installation directly to Rockstar Games’ broader promotional activity. It describes Rockstar as a major arena sponsor and states that Rockstar merchandise will be available for sale at the Kaseya Center alongside other promotions. The wording does not specify which products will be stocked, so it should not yet be taken as confirmation of a dedicated GTA VI merchandise line.

The filing additionally describes the signage as part of a county-wide promotion surrounding the release of a video game featuring Miami and Miami-Dade County. That fits with the much wider Vice City-themed partnership proposals discussed across Miami-Dade, which have included concepts for airports, transit infrastructure, public spaces and other real-world locations. GTA VI’s fictional Vice City is heavily inspired by Miami, while the wider state of Leonida draws extensively from Florida.

Those proposals have also generated political pushback. Some Miami-Dade officials have opposed parts of the proposed GTA VI promotional partnership, particularly the use of public assets and government-linked locations for commercial branding. The Kaseya Center rooftop installation is a more specific arena project, however, and construction activity around the sign has already been visible.

Another notable detail in the documentation concerns how long the branding may remain. The Letter of Intent allows the Rockstar artwork to serve as the featured copy on the arena’s rooftop sign for as long as two years. That means the Vice City installation could potentially remain part of Miami’s skyline well beyond GTA VI’s initial launch campaign rather than functioning as a short-lived release-week advertisement.

Unlike some of the Kaseya Center’s previously approved dynamic rooftop lighting, the GTA VI artwork is planned around static illumination. The documents do not provide a confirmed date for the helicopter lifts or the completion of installation, so the exact point at which the finished sign will appear on the arena remains unknown.

The plans nevertheless provide the clearest picture yet of how large Rockstar’s physical GTA VI marketing presence in Miami is becoming. With nearly 4,700 square feet of signage, approximately 21,000 pounds of new steel and sections heavy enough to require helicopter placement, the Kaseya Center display is shaping up to be a major real-world extension of Vice City’s identity ahead of GTA VI’s November 19, 2026 launch.
