Microsoft has announced a brand-new Xbox controller set to release on Tuesday, February 4. Known for regularly introducing new controllers, Microsoft offers Xbox fans a variety of designs, colors, and functionality options. From variations of the Xbox Elite Series controllers to a broad range of standard options, there’s always something fresh to explore.

Recently, Microsoft has focused on transparent designs for its controllers, such as the blue Sky Cipher and gray Ghost Cipher models. Now, the latest addition to the lineup is the Xbox Wireless Controller Special Edition – Pulse Cipher. This new controller features a bold red transparent design, reminiscent of the retro tech aesthetic. The red theme extends across the buttons, d-pad, triggers, and grips, while the back of the controller sports a deeper maroon shade. Although visually stunning, the Pulse Cipher controller offers the same functionality as standard Xbox controllers. Priced at $74.99, it is available for pre-order now, with the official launch on February 4.

The Pulse Cipher is part of Xbox’s growing series of transparent controllers, and it’s likely that more colors will be introduced in the future. With several primary colors yet to be featured in the Cipher line, fans may want to wait if their preferred shade hasn’t been released yet. However, for those who love the striking red look, the Pulse Cipher is a compelling option.

For gamers who prefer a more customized approach, the Xbox Design Lab allows users to create their own controller designs. While the transparent designs are currently limited to the Xbox Elite Series controllers in the Design Lab, this customization platform offers countless other possibilities for creating a unique gaming accessory.
