Publisher Hyperstrange and developer Visuwyg have announced that DERELIKT, a retro science-fiction survival horror first-person shooter, will launch for PC via Steam on November 13, 2026. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also planned, although release dates for the console editions have not been announced.
The release date was confirmed on October 20 alongside a new trailer showcasing the game’s PlayStation-era visual style and atmospheric horror setting. DERELIKT combines first-person combat, exploration, environmental puzzles and resource management with a narrative influenced by classic science-fiction horror games.
DERELIKT takes place aboard Von Neumann Outpost, a remote research facility constructed within a derelict asteroid orbiting Saturn. The station’s systems are failing, its corridors have fallen into darkness, and the remaining survivors offer conflicting accounts of what happened.

Players must investigate the facility by exploring laboratories, crew quarters and interconnected corridors while searching for supplies and unlocking new routes. More than a dozen non-playable characters inhabit the station, each with their own motivations and knowledge of the unfolding situation. Some may provide useful information or assistance, while others present potential threats.
The game draws inspiration from System Shock 2, Alien Resurrection and DOOM 3, emphasizing vulnerability and survival rather than unrestricted action. Ammunition, health and inventory capacity are limited, requiring players to manage supplies carefully while confronting hostile creatures.
Combat features both conventional firearms and alien weapons, while exploration involves environmental puzzles and revisiting previously inaccessible areas. The game’s Steam description also outlines a glyph-based upgrade system and 12 levels arranged around the research outpost, with interconnected progression encouraging players to return to earlier locations after acquiring new equipment.
Visually, DERELIKT recreates the appearance of late-1990s PlayStation games through techniques including affine texture warping, dynamic subdivision, hand-painted vertex colors and full-motion CGI cutscenes. These retro presentation techniques are paired with modern controls and quality-of-life improvements.
Hyperstrange previously confirmed its publishing partnership with Visuwyg in June 2026, establishing plans to bring the project to market this year. A free playable demo subsequently launched on Steam on October 8, allowing PC players to sample the game ahead of its full release.
DERELIKT joins other upcoming science-fiction horror releases targeting modern platforms, including BECROWNED, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
DERELIKT is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with the demo remaining accessible through its separate store listing. The full PC release is scheduled for November 13, while Hyperstrange and Visuwyg have yet to provide a launch window for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
