Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is expected to take approximately 14 to 16 hours to complete, according to Crystal Dynamics experience director Jeff Adams. The estimate suggests that the upcoming remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider will offer a campaign comparable in length to the PlayStation classic, although individual completion times will depend on how players approach exploration.
Adams shared the estimate in an interview with MP1st published on October 24, 2026. Asked how the remake’s length compares with the original game, he explained that the development team currently expects players to spend between 14 and 16 hours on the adventure, depending on their play style.
The estimate is not intended as a strict completion target. Adams emphasized that the developers want players to explore the game’s environments at their own pace rather than focus on reaching the ending as quickly as possible.

“We’ve intentionally built a world that’s meant to draw you in and make you curious to explore, so you don’t have to put a timer on yourself,” Adams said.
He also encouraged players to appreciate the game’s environmental audio and sense of isolation, describing those elements as important parts of the Tomb Raider experience.
The projected duration is close to the original Tomb Raider’s commonly cited completion time of approximately 15 hours, based on player-submitted estimates collected by HowLongToBeat. However, the remake’s final average completion time will only become clear after release.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, with Amazon Game Studios publishing the title. The game reimagines Lara Croft’s original adventure with modern visuals, updated gameplay mechanics and redesigned presentation while retaining the central premise of her search for the mysterious Scion.
The adventure takes Lara through locations including Peru, Greece and Egypt, combining environmental exploration, platforming, puzzle-solving and combat. The remake also incorporates modern gameplay systems while revisiting the environments and challenges associated with the original release.
The estimated campaign length follows the release of a 30th anniversary trailer showcasing Lara Croft's combat, traversal and familiar locations, which offered another look at the remake ahead of launch.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is scheduled for release on February 12, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
The 14–16-hour figure remains a developer estimate rather than a measured average. Players who spend additional time exploring environments and searching for optional discoveries may take longer to finish the adventure.
