Grand Theft Auto VI could require approximately 210 GB of storage on PlayStation 5, according to newly surfaced PlayStation Store backend information. The figure was shared by PlayStation Game Size on October 27, 2026, ahead of the game’s scheduled November 12 preload. Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the download size.
PlayStation Game Size, an account known for tracking information from Sony’s digital storefront, listed the standard edition of GTA 6 at 210 GB. Insider Gaming separately stated that it could corroborate the figure, providing additional support for the reported storage requirement.
If accurate, the download would make GTA 6 one of the larger modern console releases in terms of its initial file size. However, the reported figure should not be treated as a finalized installation requirement until Rockstar or Sony confirms it.

The 210 GB estimate is particularly significant for owners of the original PlayStation 5, which has an 825 GB internal SSD but provides approximately 667 GB of usable storage. A 210 GB installation would occupy roughly 31% of that available capacity, potentially requiring players with several large games installed to clear additional space.
The reported size currently applies to PlayStation information. No equivalent download size has been independently established for Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, and the final installation footprint could differ between platforms. It is also unclear whether the 210 GB figure accounts for any updates released alongside the game.
Rockstar has officially confirmed that GTA 6 digital preorders can begin preloading on November 12, seven days before its November 19, 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical edition will also contain a download code rather than a game disc, making sufficient storage and internet access important for physical buyers as well.
The storage report arrives as Rockstar continues preparing for the game’s release. The recently published GTA VI launch trailer offered another look at Jason and Lucia ahead of their return to Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
Players planning to preload GTA 6 may want to reserve at least 210 GB of free space on PS5, with additional capacity available for installation overhead or subsequent updates. The actual requirement should become clearer when the preload files become available on November 12.
For now, 210 GB remains a corroborated third-party report rather than an officially announced storage specification.
