Frog Sqwad, the eight-player cooperative puzzle platformer from developer Panic Stations, launches on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 today, October 28, 2026. The console releases coincide with the game’s 2.0 update, which introduces cross-platform multiplayer and 11 additional maps for players across supported systems.
Panic Stations confirmed the expansion in an official Steam community announcement on October 8. The update allows players on PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC to play together, removing the platform restrictions that previously separated parts of the game’s multiplayer community.
Frog Sqwad originally launched on June 11, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass. Its arrival on two additional consoles expands the potential player base while giving existing players more options for teaming up with friends.

The developer, Panic Stations, was founded by former Mediatonic staff who previously worked on Fall Guys. Frog Sqwad shares an emphasis on physics-driven multiplayer interactions, although its gameplay revolves around cooperative exploration, puzzles and extraction objectives rather than competitive obstacle courses.
Players form squads of up to eight frogs tasked with exploring dangerous sewers and collecting food for the Swamp King. Each expedition involves gathering enough supplies to satisfy a daily quota before returning to safety.
Movement and puzzle-solving depend heavily on the frogs’ tongues, which can grab objects, swing from pipes, pull items through environments and launch teammates across obstacles. Players can also consume food to grow larger, eventually transforming into oversized Megafrogs capable of rolling through the environment.
Successful expeditions reward players with gold that can be spent on additional gadgets and physics-based tools. However, failing to meet the Swamp King’s demands carries consequences, making cooperation important when navigating hazards and recovering supplies.
The October 28 update expands the available content with 11 new maps. Panic Stations has highlighted environments involving museum break-ins, mines and moving rooms, introducing additional situations for players to navigate using the game’s physics mechanics.
Cross-play is another significant addition. PC and Xbox players were previously separated by platform-specific multiplayer limitations, with the developer confirming in July that it was working to bring those communities together. The 2.0 update is designed to extend that compatibility to the newly released PlayStation and Nintendo versions.
The expansion follows a wider trend of cooperative multiplayer games reaching additional consoles. RV There Yet? is also scheduled to reach PS5 and Switch 2 with cross-play support on October 29, while The Outlast Trials arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27.
Panic Stations has also teased an additional surprise associated with the 2.0 update but has not provided specific details about that content.
Frog Sqwad is available digitally on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with its PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions launching October 28. The game supports online cooperative sessions for up to eight players, and the new update is intended to allow friends to form squads regardless of their supported gaming platform.
