Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is introducing an automatic Battle Pass catch-up system in Season 1, allowing players who fall behind on premium rewards to regain progression based on the current day of the season. The new mechanic will guarantee more than 50 rewards for premium Battle Pass purchasers, with automatic catch-up available through day 50.
Activision confirmed the changes in its October 28 Season 1 announcement, ahead of the update’s November 6, 2026 launch. Alongside the catch-up feature, the publisher is replacing the previous Battle Pass navigation structure with a streamlined, linear 100-tier reward track.
Under the new system, premium Battle Pass owners who are behind schedule will automatically advance to the reward corresponding to the current day of the season, up to a maximum of day 50. This means players who purchase the premium pass after a season has already begun, or who cannot play regularly, will have a way to recover missed progression without completing every earlier tier through normal gameplay.

The catch-up mechanism operates alongside standard Battle Pass progression rather than replacing it. Players can continue earning rewards through gameplay, while the automatic system provides a minimum progression milestone based on how far the season has advanced.
Importantly, the automatic catch-up stops at day 50. Activision has not announced an equivalent automatic progression system covering the remaining tiers, meaning players seeking to complete the entire 100-tier track will still need to progress beyond that threshold through normal unlocking methods.
The redesigned Battle Pass will contain more than 100 rewards across free and premium tiers. Players will progress through a single linear track rather than navigating a more complicated reward structure. Available items include Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Finishing Moves, Calling Cards, Weapon Charms, Reticles, COD Points, and Double XP Tokens.
The Season 1 Battle Pass will cost 1,100 COD Points, while the Battle Pass Bundle will cost 2,400 COD Points. Both purchases provide access to the catch-up system and immediate rewards, including a 10% Battle Pass XP boost for the season, the Downpour Operator Skin for Blix, and the Fortune’s Favor FiNN LMG Weapon Blueprint. The rewards also include a DMZ Survival Kit, adding another item tied to the extraction mode’s broader progression and upgrade systems.
Two new weapons will be available through the free Battle Pass tiers. The Cronen Osprey Assault Rifle unlocks at Tier 16, while the CSG-35 SMG unlocks at Tier 36. Their associated Weapon Blueprints appear at Tiers 87 and 73, respectively.
Premium Battle Pass purchasers who complete all 100 tiers will receive additional completion rewards, including the Vantage Operator Skin for Blix, the Blue Viper Hyeon Burst Assault Rifle Blueprint, and 200 COD Points. The final tier also features the Bellum Ultra-rarity Mosin-Nagant Weapon Blueprint.
BlackCell remains a separate premium offering, with exclusive Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, 20 Tier Skip Tokens, and additional rewards. Players who own the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition will also receive access to Season 1 BlackCell content.
For players who cannot dedicate consistent time to seasonal progression, the new catch-up feature reduces the risk of missing early premium rewards. However, the day-50 limit preserves the distinction between guaranteed progression and completing the full Battle Pass.
Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 launches November 6 across all supported platforms, bringing the redesigned Battle Pass alongside new multiplayer maps, weapons, modes, and additional DMZ content.
