XREAL has officially launched XREAL AURA, its new wired extended reality glasses powered by Google’s Android XR platform, with orders opening October 28, 2026. The glasses feature 1200p Micro-OLED displays running at up to 120Hz, a 70-degree field of view, and support for Android games and wired display mirroring from compatible gaming handhelds and computers. Limited-time launch pricing starts at $1,099, with shipments expected to begin in mid-November.
The announcement was made during Google’s Android Developer Summit, where XREAL confirmed the device’s final specifications, hardware configurations, and launch availability. Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, AURA is described by XREAL as the first wired XR glasses powered by Android XR and the first to launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform.
Unlike fully enclosed virtual reality headsets, XREAL AURA uses transparent optical see-through lenses that allow users to view digital content while remaining aware of their physical surroundings. The glasses weigh under 95 grams, with the main processing hardware and battery housed in a separate portable computing puck connected by cable.

The display system uses Sony Micro-OLED technology with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels per eye and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. XREAL also specifies a 70-degree field of view, up to 1,050 nits of brightness, and electrochromic dimming that allows users to adjust how much external light passes through the lenses.
For gaming, AURA supports Android titles available through Google Play alongside applications designed specifically for Android XR. The platform also allows users to arrange conventional applications and immersive content within a spatial environment, rather than restricting them to a traditional flat display.
One of the device’s more relevant features for PC and handheld gaming enthusiasts is wired display mirroring. XREAL says users can connect compatible handheld gaming systems or computers through USB-C and display their games on a large virtual screen. The external device supplies the game content, while AURA functions as a wearable display.
This provides an alternative to carrying a conventional portable monitor, particularly for users who play on handheld PCs or want a private gaming display while traveling. Compatibility depends on the connected device’s supported video output, and XREAL has not provided comprehensive gaming performance benchmarks for the mirroring feature.
The computing puck uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, while the glasses incorporate XREAL’s X1S spatial coprocessor. Together, these components handle Android XR applications, spatial processing, and interaction with virtual content. The puck also provides a touchpad for navigation, with additional support for hand gestures, voice commands, keyboards, mice, and Bluetooth game controllers.
AURA includes spatial audio with Sound by Bose tuning, a four-microphone array, and cameras supporting spatial tracking and hand interaction. Google’s Gemini assistant is integrated through Android XR, allowing users to interact with applications and receive assistance based on supported on-screen and real-world context.
XREAL says more than 150 made-for-XR experiences are available as part of the launch ecosystem. Among the highlighted titles is Fallout: Factions, a two-player tabletop skirmish game in which participants control miniature factions during tactical encounters. Other experiences include Nevatars and dedicated immersive entertainment applications.
The company has also announced a game controller developed in collaboration with GameSir. The accessory includes a dedicated Gemini button intended to provide access to AI assistance during gameplay. A separate wireless portable keyboard has been introduced for productivity and multi-window applications. Pricing and release dates for these accessories were not confirmed in the launch announcement.
XREAL AURA is offered in two configurations. The model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage carries a regular US price of $1,279, reduced to $1,099 during the promotional launch period. The higher-end version includes 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, normally priced at $1,499 but available for $1,299 during the same promotion.
Both promotional prices are scheduled to remain available through December 2026 for eligible standalone purchases. The offer applies across the initial launch markets, with regional pricing and terms varying.
Orders are open in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea through XREAL’s official store, while US customers can also order through Best Buy. Google separately indicates that Japanese orders open November 2. XREAL expects shipments to begin in mid-November, although it has not provided individual delivery dates for each market.
With its high-refresh-rate Micro-OLED displays, Android XR gaming support, and direct USB-C mirroring capabilities, AURA combines standalone spatial applications with an external gaming display. However, its premium pricing and requirement for a separate computing puck distinguish it from simpler wearable display glasses, and real-world gaming performance remains to be established through independent testing.
