Meccha Chameleon has received update 4.2.0, introducing a new Team Battle mode, two maps, three additional character body types, and substantial changes to clone mechanics. The update arrived on October 28, 2026, with developer LEMORION confirming the additions through official Steam patch notes.
The new Team Battle mode expands the multiplayer options available in the hide-and-seek game. Players also gain access to Chaotic Kitchen and Paper Island, two new environments that increase the variety of maps available during matches. The developer has not detailed any additional Team Battle rules in the published patch notes.
Three new body types, Macho, Octopus, and Polygon, have also been introduced. These additions expand character customization options in a game built around painting and positioning characters to blend into their surroundings while avoiding detection by opposing players.

One of the most significant gameplay changes concerns the clone system. Update 4.2.0 reduces the cooldown for creating clones from 45 seconds to just five seconds, allowing players to deploy copies of their characters much more frequently.
Clones are an important part of Meccha Chameleon’s hiding mechanics, allowing players to create additional disguised bodies around a map. However, the update also adjusts their scoring contribution. Clones now generate only half the Overlook Points awarded to an original body, introducing a scoring trade-off alongside their substantially shorter cooldown.
The patch includes several interface and match-selection improvements. The main user interface and body selection screen have been redesigned, while new Overlook Lines can be enabled or disabled through the Options menu. Random map selection has also been adjusted to prevent the same map from being chosen twice consecutively.
Multiplayer improvements are another focus of version 4.2.0. The developer has reduced network traffic, although the patch notes do not specify the scale of the reduction or provide measurable latency improvements.
Several gameplay bugs have also been addressed. An issue preventing match hosts from earning Discovery Points has been fixed, alongside a rare problem that prevented clones from being removed. Additional fixes address unintended access to Petit Chameleon, characters moving vertically when positioned close together, and difficulties earning Overlook Points while performing certain poses.
Meccha Chameleon originally launched in June 2026 and is available on PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The multiplayer game challenges participants to disguise themselves by painting their characters to match the environment, while opposing players attempt to identify and locate them.
Version 4.2.0 is available on PC through Steam, with the update also announced for Nintendo Switch 2. The latest changes expand the game’s competitive options while adjusting character cloning, scoring, and multiplayer systems.
