HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate will launch in early 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, publisher Acclaim and developer Wabisabi Games have announced. The announcement confirms a Nintendo Switch 2 version for the first time and establishes a release window for the arcade-style snowboarding game.
The news was revealed during Nintendo’s October 28, 2026, Indie World Showcase, accompanied by a new trailer highlighting the game’s snowboarding action, stylized environments, and multiplayer features. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
Developed by Mexican studio Wabisabi Games, previously responsible for RKGK / Rakugaki, HYPERyuki draws inspiration from classic extreme sports games such as SSX and Cool Boarders. Its retro-futuristic Y2K presentation combines high-speed downhill racing, elaborate trick combinations, and customizable characters across eight courses.

Players can choose between three gameplay modes. Challenge mode focuses on completing objectives, performing tricks, and progressing through levels while pursuing high scores. Race mode pits players against computer-controlled opponents or other players, with successful tricks contributing to a boost meter. Chill mode removes competitive pressure, allowing players to explore courses freely, experiment with movement, and discover hidden areas.
Multiplayer is another major component. Nintendo has confirmed support for up to four players in local split-screen and eight players in online matches. The Switch 2 version will also support local GameShare and online GameShare through GameChat, giving players additional ways to participate in multiplayer sessions.
HYPERyuki will feature four playable characters initially, with eight more available to unlock through progression. Customization options include snowboard designs, jackets, boots, and headgear, allowing players to personalize their riders as they complete challenges and races.
The game’s eight courses feature rails, ramps, and other obstacles designed around chaining tricks while maintaining speed. Environments take inspiration from real-world locations, including Japan, Canada, and Mexico. Earlier gameplay footage also showcased more unusual areas, including an active volcano and ice caves.
Its soundtrack includes contributions from Japanese chiptune group YMCK, Mexican electronic musician Trasto NueveVidas, and composer Yusuke Yamauchi, whose credits include the Tekken and Ace Combat franchises.
Acclaim previously showcased additional gameplay during The MIX: Fall Online Showcase on October 16, revealing new environments and playable characters. The publisher also confirmed plans for a PC demo through Steam, although a specific release date for the demo has not been announced.
The Switch 2 announcement adds another upcoming release to Nintendo’s 2027 lineup, alongside titles such as Threads of Time, which is scheduled for summer 2027 on Switch and Switch 2.
HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate can currently be wishlisted on Steam. Acclaim and Wabisabi Games have not yet announced pricing or a specific launch date within the early 2027 release window.
