Owlcat Games has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader’s fourth and final expansion, Processional of the Damned, will launch on December 8, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement confirms the release date following an earlier delay and introduces additional details about the expansion’s storyline, recruitable companion and gameplay systems.
The expansion will be available separately or through Season Pass 2. Although Rogue Trader is also available on Nintendo Switch 2, the release date announcement does not confirm when Processional of the Damned will arrive on Nintendo’s console.
Processional of the Damned introduces a new storyline integrated into Rogue Trader’s existing campaign rather than taking place exclusively after its conclusion. Players will encounter additional quests throughout the main story, alongside new enemies, equipment and gameplay features.

The story centers on a gigantic graveyard of abandoned voidships known as the Processional of the Damned. The Rogue Trader and their companions become trapped within the graveyard after following Stella, a mysterious psyker whose visions are connected to the location.
To escape, the party must cooperate with survivors of a lost missionary expedition, explore the wreckage of enemy ships and investigate the identity and intentions of whoever drew Stella into the Processional.
Stella is the expansion’s new recruitable companion, a Miraculist raised by the Order of Saint Cognatius. Although she possesses unsanctioned psychic abilities, her religious order considers her powers a manifestation of the God-Emperor’s will.
Her combat abilities revolve around unpredictable psychic effects. Psychic Trail creates an aura around Stella, while Psychic Flare allows her to unleash area-of-effect powers influenced by psychic disciplines and battlefield conditions. Players will also face decisions concerning Stella’s future and how she handles her abilities.
The DLC introduces the Zealot, a new melee-focused first-tier archetype specializing in blunt weapons, area-of-effect attacks and drawing enemy attention. Zealots can use weapons such as hammers and maces while providing defensive support to nearby allies.
Unlike Stella’s exclusive Miraculist origin, the Zealot archetype will also be available to players creating their own Rogue Trader character. This adds another character-building option for players starting a new campaign.
Another addition is the Insanity system, which affects companions differently. Owlcat has indicated that Stella will have a particularly significant connection to this mechanic, although the full extent of its consequences has not been detailed.
Additional content includes grenade launchers as a new weapon type, companion events, a romance option, expanded exploration opportunities and enemies associated with Chaos and the Aeldari.
Processional of the Damned was originally planned for September 2026 before Owlcat postponed it to December to allow additional development time. The newly confirmed December 8 date provides a specific launch schedule for the final expansion.
The DLC follows The Infinite Museion, which launched in June 2026 as the first expansion included in Season Pass 2. With Processional of the Damned, Owlcat is completing Rogue Trader’s planned downloadable content lineup while adding its final storyline directly into the existing campaign.
