Despite facing a rocky development process, marked by numerous delays and online criticism over certain design choices, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has managed to emerge as a surprising success for Ubisoft.

Recently, it was also revealed that the game has climbed the ranks to become the second best-selling title of the year in the U.S., trailing only Monster Hunter Wilds. This achievement is particularly impressive considering Shadows topped the charts for its first three weeks after release.

With Assassin’s Creed Shadows already making waves in the gaming community, now there’s speculation about its potential release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 after it was listed for Switch 2 in PEGI’s database.

Importance: Given the game’s strong performance on other platforms and its rapid rise in sales, this listing raises excitement among fans who hope to see the title expand its reach. If confirmed, it would mark a key moment for Ubisoft and the Nintendo Switch 2, further solidifying the new console’s appeal to gamers.

Although the game is shown to support PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, the Switch 2 platform is not listed on the game’s actual page. It could possibly be a mistake by PEGI that the Switch 2 tag was displayed on the front page.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Leads Ubisoft’s Comeback Story

In recent years, Ubisoft faced challenges with a series of underperforming releases, financial decline, and criticism. In response, the company announced in January a major restructuring plan, including the creation of a new subsidiary, partly owned by Tencent, focused on its flagship franchises such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.

Shortly after, Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched and became a critical and commercial success, earning strong reviews and player praise. This positive reception has helped restore confidence in the brand, marking a hopeful turning point for Ubisoft’s future.
