Happinet Corporation and developer Adglobe have released the first free update for Brigandine: Abyss and announced a four-stage update roadmap extending through April 2027. The plans include a new Creative Mode, cross-class abilities, customizable difficulty settings and improvements to enemy AI.
The announcement, published on November 4, 2026, confirms that the first update is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will receive the update later, although Happinet has not announced a release date for that platform.
The roadmap outlines three additional free updates scheduled for December 2026, February 2027 and April 2027. The final update is described as a major expansion of the game’s existing strategic systems.

The November 4 update introduces several gameplay adjustments and fixes. Story Mode now displays its completion conditions when players begin a campaign, while directional pad controls have received improvements.
Two unit types, Centaurs and Chirons, no longer suffer movement penalties when traveling through forest terrain. The update also changes enemy faction behavior during the Invasion Phase, preventing computer-controlled opponents from attacking the same player-controlled base again in the immediately following season.
These adjustments address movement restrictions and repetitive invasion behavior without introducing new gameplay modes.
The second update, scheduled for December 2026, will focus on equipment management, interface customization and battlefield adjustments.
Players will gain an equipment sorting function, options to resize health gauges and a setting to enable or disable the minimap. The update will also modify how trees are visually reduced on battlefield maps, increasing the area in which the display adjustment applies.
Aquatic monsters, including Mermaids and Jorgoths, will no longer experience reduced evasion when positioned on watery terrain. Happinet also plans adjustments to faction-specific background music alongside additional fixes.
The third update, planned for February 2027, will expand the game’s troop management features. A sorting function and Recommended Formations system will be added to the Manage Troops screen, helping players organize their armies.
A new Combat Power indicator will also provide a reference when deciding whether to invade an enemy base. This will give players additional information when evaluating potential attacks.
The largest changes are scheduled for April 2027, when Brigandine: Abyss will receive its fourth major free update.
The centerpiece is Creative Mode, a new mode separate from the existing Story and Mission modes. It will allow players to experience different balances of power between factions, freely organize their units and pursue continental unification under a wider variety of strategic conditions.
The April update will also introduce a new class system that allows units to access abilities from other classes through subclass items. This will expand the available combinations of skills beyond a unit’s primary class.
Customizable difficulty settings are another planned addition. Rather than relying on a single overall difficulty selection, players will be able to adjust individual elements of the game’s challenge.
Computer-controlled factions will also gain a retreat function, accompanied by broader adjustments to their behavior during battles. Happinet has not yet detailed the exact conditions governing AI retreats or the full range of difficulty settings.
All three remaining updates are scheduled rather than released, and Happinet cautions that their contents and timing may change.
Brigandine: Abyss originally launched on August 27, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The turn-based fantasy strategy game takes place on a continent divided among 25 factions, with players leading one of six playable powers against an invading empire.
Its combat system revolves around armies of knights and monsters fighting across hexagonal battlefields with elevation differences. Alongside its main Story Mode, the game includes a Mission Mode featuring objectives associated with the continent’s different nations.
Happinet has also launched the game’s first digital sale, offering a 20% discount across supported platforms. In Japan, the price has temporarily dropped from Â¥9,020 to Â¥7,216, with the promotional end date varying by storefront.
The Japanese sale ends on November 9 for Xbox Series X|S, November 18 for Steam, and November 20 for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Free demos are also available across the supported platforms.
Happinet plans to provide further information about each update through the game’s official website and social media channels as development progresses.
