Dell Reportedly Raising Monitor Prices by 3–5% in October

Dell is reportedly increasing monitor shipping prices by approximately 3% to 5% in October 2026, with the adjustments primarily affecting mid-range and high-end displays. Some premium models could face larger increases, while newer entry-level monitors are reportedly excluded from the current changes.

The information originates from ChannelGate, a Chinese technology industry source, and was published by IT Home on October 18. ChannelGate claims that Dell has issued an internal notification announcing the pricing adjustments, which are scheduled to take effect during October. Dell has not publicly confirmed the reported changes.

The reported increases follow an earlier rise in costs during July 2026. According to ChannelGate, Dell initially absorbed those additional expenses rather than adjusting its monitor shipping prices. The October changes reportedly represent an attempt to pass some of those costs further along the distribution chain.

Most affected monitors are expected to see increases of between 3% and 5%, although certain higher-end products could experience larger adjustments. The report does not identify individual models, provide revised price lists or specify which regional markets will be affected.

This leaves the potential impact on Dell’s Alienware gaming monitors uncertain. Although the company sells premium gaming displays alongside its broader consumer and professional monitor ranges, the report does not establish whether any particular Alienware model is included in the price adjustments.

The distinction between shipping prices and retail prices is also important. The reported changes concern the prices charged through Dell’s distribution channels, rather than confirmed increases at consumer retailers. Distributors and stores may absorb some of the additional costs, adjust their margins or pass the increases on to customers.

For example, a 5% increase on a $500 monitor would amount to $25 if the entire adjustment were reflected in its retail price. However, that calculation is illustrative and does not establish how much any Dell monitor will actually cost after the reported changes.

ChannelGate also suggests that further price adjustments could follow if Dell’s costs continue rising. No additional increase has been confirmed, and the source has not provided a timetable for any subsequent changes.

For PC gamers and enthusiasts considering a new display, the report introduces potential uncertainty around mid-range and premium Dell monitor pricing. However, without an official announcement, identified affected models or verified retail price changes, it remains unclear whether consumers will see higher prices at checkout during October.
