Devolver Digital has announced that Look Outside, the pixel-art survival horror RPG developed by Francis Coulombe, will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 30, 2026. The console release follows the game’s original PC debut on Steam on March 21, 2025.

The publisher confirmed the four platforms and release date in an October 23 social media announcement. The new versions will bring the game’s combination of apartment-building exploration, resource management and turn-based combat to PlayStation and Nintendo players ahead of Halloween.

Look Outside takes place inside a single apartment building following a mysterious event that transforms anyone who looks out a window into a grotesque monster. Players must navigate the building, gather food, weapons and supplies, and interact with its increasingly unusual inhabitants while attempting to survive.

Exploration revolves around leaving the relative safety of the player’s apartment to search corridors and other rooms for essential resources. Between expeditions, players can return home to cook meals, craft tools, recover and spend time with characters they encounter. Some survivors can also be recruited and offered shelter.

Combat uses a turn-based system in which positioning and distance influence encounters. According to the game’s official description, Look Outside features more than 150 handcrafted creatures, improvised weapons and approximately a dozen boss encounters.

The RPG also offers multiple endings, with its story unfolding through exploration and interactions with the building’s residents. Its Steam description estimates approximately 10 to 12 hours of gameplay, although individual playthroughs may vary.

Look Outside received a positive critical reception following its PC release, establishing itself as a well-regarded indie horror RPG before the newly announced console expansion. Its distinctive body-horror visuals and blend of survival mechanics with traditional RPG combat distinguish it from more conventional action-oriented horror games.

The October 30 launch adds another indie horror release to the PlayStation lineup. Other recently announced console horror projects include Buckshot Roulette for PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, although that game’s console release date remains unannounced.

Devolver Digital has not yet confirmed console pricing or announced an Xbox version of Look Outside. For now, the game remains available on PC through Steam, with the four newly announced console editions scheduled to arrive simultaneously on October 30.
