Discord appears to be preparing a limited-time Grand Theft Auto VI promotional campaign ahead of the game’s November launch. Discord-focused dataminer Wumpus Central says references to a campaign codenamed “Hexagon” were discovered in the latest Discord app code, including a GTA VI-themed app icon, full interface theme and custom display-name font. Neither Discord nor Rockstar Games has formally announced the promotion, so the details should still be treated as a leak.
According to the datamine, Hexagon is scheduled to begin on November 17 at 18:00 UTC, two days before GTA VI launches on November 19. The leaked code reportedly lists December 8 as the end date for free Discord users, while Nitro subscribers would retain access to the campaign cosmetics until February 15, 2027. Wumpus Central also published a preview of the desktop theme, which uses a pink-and-yellow color palette closely associated with GTA VI’s Vice City presentation.
The leaked customization appears to go beyond a basic promotional banner. Discord users would reportedly be able to replace the normal app icon with a GTA VI version, apply a full GTA VI interface theme and use a custom display-name font styled around Rockstar’s branding. References found in the app also describe the promotion as being promoted by Rockstar Games, strengthening the connection between the leaked assets and the publisher.

A separate Discord Quest may also accompany the campaign, although that portion of the datamine is less complete. Wumpus Central found a reference to a Quest but has not identified its requirements or reward. Discord officially describes Quests as opt-in promotional activities that can reward users for playing games, streaming gameplay, completing specific in-game tasks or watching videos, depending on the individual campaign.
That leaves several possibilities for the GTA VI promotion, but there is currently no evidence that completing the Quest will grant an in-game GTA VI item. Discord Quests can also award platform-specific cosmetics, Orbs or redemption codes, so any claim about the reward would be speculation until additional code or an official announcement appears. The presence of the Quest itself should therefore be treated as tentative compared with the themed icon, interface and font references.
The timing of the campaign would place it directly inside Rockstar’s final marketing push before launch. GTA VI is officially scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-loading beginning a week earlier on November 12. Rockstar has also been expanding its promotional material around the release, including a 34-track GTA VI album planned for launch day.
Rockstar has released substantially more information about Leonida and its characters in recent months as the launch approaches. Recent material has included new GTA VI screenshots and additional Leonida details, while developer interviews have expanded on the game’s world design, ambient activity and character systems. A Discord campaign beginning just before release would fit naturally alongside that broader marketing rollout.
Discord has increasingly used app customization and Quests as advertising formats tied to major game launches. Promotional campaigns can temporarily change how the platform looks while giving publishers direct access to an audience already centered around multiplayer games, communities and launch-day discussion. GTA VI is an especially obvious fit for that format given the scale of interest surrounding its release.
The leaked dates also suggest Nitro subscribers would receive a longer period of access to the visual customization than free users. That would be consistent with Discord’s existing practice of offering extended access to certain Quest-related cosmetic rewards for Nitro members. However, until Discord publishes the campaign terms, it remains unclear exactly which Hexagon features will be available to each subscription tier.
For now, the strongest evidence points to a GTA VI-themed Discord campaign beginning November 17 with an app icon, interface theme and custom display-name font. The possible Quest and its reward remain unresolved, and Rockstar and Discord have yet to officially confirm any part of the collaboration. If the dates found in the code are final, an announcement could arrive shortly before GTA VI’s November 19 release.
