Hyperspace Neptunia: Unlimited will launch in Western markets in 2027 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Publisher Idea Factory International confirmed the release on November 3, 2026, bringing the first new mainline Neptunia RPG in more than a decade to international audiences.
Developed by Compile Heart, the game originally launched in Japan on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. The Western announcement also confirms a Steam version, marking the game’s first planned PC release.
Idea Factory International has not announced a specific Western release date beyond 2027. However, the publisher has confirmed English localization, regional physical editions, and several gameplay features for the upcoming release.

The Western launch represents the franchise’s first new mainline installment since Megadimension Neptunia VII, which debuted in Japan in 2015. While numerous spin-offs and related releases have appeared since then, Hyperspace Neptunia: Unlimited continues the mainline storyline.
The new RPG follows Neptune and the other Goddesses of Gamindustri as they confront an approaching asteroid threatening to destroy their world. After a catastrophic event leaves Neptune isolated in a mysterious white void, she encounters an unknown voice and discovers strange numbers appearing on her cheek.
These markings introduce a system of repeated endings and new beginnings, with Neptune attempting to overcome Doomsday alongside familiar allies and newly introduced characters.
Returning characters include Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert, while newcomers include Rouge, Ciel, Anna, and Lotte. Producer Hikaru Yasui and longtime Neptunia illustrator Tsunako are also returning for the new installment.
Hyperspace Neptunia: Unlimited expands exploration by introducing free flight across three-dimensional environments. Players can switch between running and flying to navigate larger dungeons, reach rooftops, explore waterways, and discover hidden items.
Flight also plays a role in combat. The Goddesses can transform into their Goddess Forms and attack enemies from above, with aerial combat, dive attacks, and vertical positioning becoming important parts of the battle system.
The game additionally features revised combo mechanics, new EXE Drive animations, and large-scale boss encounters.
Character customization has also been expanded. Players can adjust Goddess colors, attach accessories with customizable positioning and sizing, and improve Processor Unit equipment discovered during exploration. The returning Disc Make system allows players to craft enhancements that unlock additional abilities.
For Western players, Idea Factory International has confirmed both English and Japanese voiceovers across all announced platforms. Console versions will feature English text, while the Steam release will additionally support Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese text.
Physical editions are planned for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch 2 in North America. European physical availability is more limited, with the publisher currently identifying PlayStation 5 as the region’s physical release. The Switch 2 physical edition will include the complete game on its cartridge rather than requiring a separate game download.
Digital editions are planned for all five platforms, including the original Nintendo Switch. Pricing and detailed edition contents remain unannounced.
The Western release adds another Japanese RPG to the Nintendo Switch 2’s 2027 lineup, alongside other upcoming releases such as Kakan Ruirui: The Caged Lantern of Yomi, which is also scheduled for 2027 with English-language support.
Idea Factory International has released a Western announcement trailer showcasing the returning characters, aerial exploration, and combat systems. Further details about the release date, pricing, and available editions are expected to be announced ahead of the game’s 2027 launch.
