Luma Island is expanding beyond PC, with developer Feel Free Games announcing PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions for 2026. The console release will introduce full cross-platform multiplayer between PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, allowing players on all three platforms to explore together. A specific console release date has not yet been announced.
The farming and adventure game originally launched on PC in November 2024 and has since been played by more than 800,000 players, according to Feel Free Games. The developer confirmed the console expansion through a new PlayStation Blog post, with wishlisting opening for the PS5 version. The studio’s broader announcement also confirms Xbox Series X|S as part of the upcoming console rollout.
Cross-platform multiplayer is one of the more significant additions accompanying the new versions. Luma Island supports groups of up to four players, with friends able to farm, build, share resources and explore together. Once the console editions arrive, those multiplayer groups will no longer need to be confined to the same platform, with PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC players sharing the same cross-play ecosystem.

Luma Island begins with the player taking over a rundown farm and an old caravan, but the game extends beyond traditional farming mechanics. Players can grow crops, raise animals, decorate their property, fish, mine and select from eight different professions. Magical creatures called Lumas can also be hatched and raised as companions, helping players uncover hidden treasure and explore the island.
The larger island includes forests, mountains, jungles, caves and ancient temples containing puzzles, traps and resources. Pirate Cove adds another explorable area with pirate-themed activities and challenges, giving players options beyond working on their homestead. Feel Free Games designed the game without stamina bars or inventory limits, allowing players to spend more time on whichever activities they prefer.
Three difficulty modes are available depending on how relaxed or demanding players want the experience to be. Cozy Mode removes mandatory combat, while Adventure provides a more balanced level of challenge and Hero increases the difficulty with stronger enemies. Those settings are intended to let players approach the same underlying world differently without separating the game’s farming and exploration systems.
The console announcement represents Luma Island’s first major platform expansion since its PC debut. Feel Free Games says more than 800,000 people have played the game worldwide, giving the upcoming PS5 and Xbox versions an existing multiplayer community to connect with through cross-play. The studio’s official site also notes that the game won Best Debut Game at the Dutch Game Awards 2025.
The move to consoles should be particularly important for Luma Island’s cooperative focus, since the game was previously limited to PC despite supporting drop-in, drop-out multiplayer. Cross-platform support means existing PC players will be able to continue playing with friends who enter through either console ecosystem rather than starting isolated communities on each platform.
Luma Island is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026, while the PC version remains available now. Feel Free Games has not yet provided a precise launch date or announced whether the two console versions will release simultaneously. More details on the console rollout are expected closer to launch.
