Ubisoft has officially revealed a free Astro Bot costume for Rayman Legends Retold, available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro when the game launches on December 3, 2026. Players will be able to obtain the outfit during their first visit to Victor Velour, the game’s resident tailor, without paying extra.
The crossover was announced in an October 28 PlayStation Blog post by Ubisoft’s Director of Editorial Communications, Lucy O’Brien. It marks a reciprocal collaboration between the two platforming franchises after Rayman appeared as a cameo character in Sony’s Astro Bot in 2024.
The new costume was created through a collaboration involving Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier and Team Asobi, the PlayStation studio behind Astro Bot.

Ubisoft also shared details about the costume’s development through an interview with Rayman Legends Retold Art and World Director Guillaume Arvieu and Lead Character Artist Quentin Chaillet.
Chaillet explained that translating Astro Bot’s futuristic appearance into Rayman’s distinctive visual style presented several design challenges. While Rayman’s character designs traditionally emphasize organic shapes and handcrafted details, Astro Bot features smooth white surfaces, reflective metallic elements and illuminated blue accents.
The development team adapted these features to Rayman’s unusual proportions, including his floating hands and feet, oversized shoes and recognizable facial features. The goal was to preserve Astro Bot’s appearance without losing the visual identity of Rayman himself.
Arvieu also discussed the similarities between the franchises, highlighting their emphasis on creative environments, exploration, fluid movement and varied gameplay interactions. He described the collaboration as an opportunity to connect two generations of platforming games while acknowledging the influence developers have on one another.
The Astro Bot outfit joins the additional content planned for Rayman Legends Retold, which expands the original platformer with new visuals, a reworked story and additional stages. Ubisoft’s overview trailer for Rayman Legends Retold has also detailed a sixth realm, four new musical stages, voiced cinematics and four-player cooperative gameplay.
Ubisoft confirmed that the game supports solo play and local cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. The new content builds on the original Rayman Legends experience while introducing additional environments and presentation changes.
The Astro Bot costume will be free for PS5 and PS5 Pro players from launch. Ubisoft has specifically identified it as a PlayStation-exclusive outfit, so players purchasing Rayman Legends Retold on other platforms should not expect access to this particular crossover cosmetic.
Rayman Legends Retold launches December 3, 2026, with the Astro Bot outfit available through Victor Velour’s costume shop during the player’s first visit.
