Rebel Wolves has started hiring for the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga, only days after the release of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The studio is seeking a Lead Writer to join its Narrative Team, with Narrative Director Jakub Szamałek saying the new hire will help craft what comes next for the series. While Rebel Wolves has not formally announced a game called The Blood of Dawnwalker 2, the recruitment provides direct evidence that narrative work on another Dawnwalker project is moving forward.

The vacancy appears on Rebel Wolves’ official careers page and was published on September 7. According to the listing, the Lead Writer will manage and support the writing team, work closely with the Narrative Director and other department leads, review story pitches and outlines, and write dialogue, cutscenes and in-game documents. The role also specifically mentions maintaining lore consistency while expanding Rebel Wolves’ original IP, reinforcing that the position concerns the studio’s own Dawnwalker universe rather than an unrelated project.

SzamaÅ‚ek made the connection even clearer in a separate LinkedIn post. After discussing the launch of The Blood of Dawnwalker, he said the team was already thinking about what comes next and was looking for a Lead Writer to help create the “next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.” That wording stops short of formally naming or announcing a sequel, but it confirms that Rebel Wolves intends to continue the series and is already building out the narrative team needed to do so.

The timing is notable because The Blood of Dawnwalker only launched on September 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Rebel Wolves has always positioned the game as the beginning of a larger saga rather than a standalone story, with the official Dawnwalker website describing it as the first chapter of a new dark fantasy RPG series. The studio’s current job listing repeats that broader intent, describing its AAA dark fantasy RPG as the first title of a planned saga set in an original universe.

The first game follows Coen, a young man who exists as a human during the day and a vampire at night, in a fictional version of 14th-century Europe. Its structure revolves around a limited amount of in-game time, with major choices and quests advancing the clock as Coen attempts to rescue his family. Rebel Wolves built the project around what it calls a narrative sandbox, allowing different decisions, alliances and unfinished quests to alter how the story develops.

Commercially, the studio has also had a strong reason to keep moving quickly. The Blood of Dawnwalker passed one million copies sold within its opening days and recently topped Steam’s paid-seller rankings for September 1–8. That early performance does not prove the new project was greenlit because of launch sales, particularly since Rebel Wolves had described Dawnwalker as a saga long before release, but the successful debut gives the studio additional momentum as it expands the series.

The Lead Writer position itself suggests the next project remains at a relatively early narrative stage. Rebel Wolves wants someone with at least six years of experience as a writer or narrative designer in the games industry, along with management experience and familiarity with nonlinear storytelling. Responsibilities include shaping story outlines, dialogue, CGI scripts and internal narrative documentation, meaning the successful applicant would be involved in establishing rather than simply polishing the next game’s story.

There are currently no confirmed details about the next Dawnwalker project’s title, setting, playable character, platforms or release window. It is therefore more accurate to describe it as the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga rather than assume it will simply be titled The Blood of Dawnwalker 2. What is now clear, however, is that Rebel Wolves is no longer speaking about the saga only as a long-term ambition: it is actively hiring senior narrative talent to help build whatever comes next.
