Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will release its Avatar Legends Pack on October 13, bringing Aang and Katara to SEGA’s crossover racer alongside a new vehicle and course. SEGA’s English Sonic Racing account confirmed the date in a new trailer, while Japanese channels list the update for October 14 because of the regional time difference. The pack serves as the sixth and final paid DLC release in the game’s original Year One Season Pass.

Aang and Katara will both become playable racers, with the Gliding Air joining the vehicle roster. The DLC also adds Lion Turtle Island as a new course based on the Avatar universe, incorporating locations and imagery associated with elemental bending. SEGA’s current Season Pass listing additionally names six emotes for each character and extra sounds among the included content.

The new trailer provides the clearest look yet at Lion Turtle Island and how Avatar’s visual identity has been adapted to CrossWorlds. The track shifts through environments themed around the four elements, with bending-inspired effects appearing throughout the race. Gliding Air is designed around Aang’s airbending aesthetic, giving the collaboration its own vehicle rather than reusing one of the base game’s machines.

Avatar Legends is included with the existing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Season Pass, which was bundled with the Digital Deluxe Edition. SEGA has also said its crossover DLC packs will be available individually, allowing players with the standard edition to purchase the Avatar content separately. An exact standalone price was not specified in the official material available with the latest announcement.

The pack closes out a Year One collaboration schedule that has already brought several outside franchises into CrossWorlds. Previous paid packs featured Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, Pac-Man, Mega Man and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each introducing its own racers, machines and themed courses. SEGA has increasingly positioned these collaborations as a major part of CrossWorlds’ ongoing identity rather than one-off cosmetic additions.

That strategy also fits the company’s broader push to expand Sonic through collaborations and cross-media projects. The franchise has grown well beyond its traditional game releases in recent years, with SEGA executives crediting Sonic’s wider media success as an important factor in the brand’s resurgence after the company had once considered a more dramatic change in direction. The first Sonic movie became a major turning point for the franchise, according to Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka.

SEGA is pairing the Avatar DLC release with a dedicated in-game festival shortly afterward. Japanese scheduling places the Avatar Legends Festival from October 16 at 9:00 AM JST through October 19 at 8:59 AM JST, corresponding to an October 15 start in some Western regions. As with previous CrossWorlds festivals, players will be able to earn event points and unlock themed rewards during the limited-time competition.

The timing is also significant because Avatar Legends marks the end of the original Season Pass rather than the end of post-launch support. SEGA has already confirmed a second year of content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with Bayonetta announced as the first free racer planned for Year Two. Separate collaboration packs based on Godzilla and Evangelion have also been revealed as part of the next content cycle.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Avatar Legends Pack arrives on October 13 according to SEGA’s English announcement, with Japan receiving the content on October 14 local time. Its arrival completes the game’s first year of paid crossover DLC before SEGA moves into the next phase of post-launch support.
