Spotify and Rockstar Games have taken GTA VI’s emerging music campaign into physical advertising, with billboards now appearing publicly using the same artwork shared by musicians earlier this week. Photos circulating on September 16 show Spotify and Rockstar branding alongside pieces of the coordinated GTA VI imagery, including artwork associated with Travis Scott. The displays provide the strongest evidence yet that the recent artist posts are part of an organized music marketing campaign rather than unrelated teasers.

The billboards follow a coordinated rollout on September 15 in which Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, PinkPantheress, Yung Lean, Rauw Alejandro, Fred again.., Keith Richards and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso shared imagery connected to GTA VI. Several artists posted matching or related pieces from the campaign within hours of one another. The coordinated GTA VI music teasers initially suggested a Rockstar-led campaign, but Rockstar had not publicly explained what the artwork represented.

Spotify’s involvement substantially narrows the possibilities. The outdoor advertisements pair the streaming service directly with Rockstar Games while reusing visuals from the artist rollout, establishing an official connection between the two companies and the campaign. Spotify has also shared material from the promotion through its own social channels, further indicating that the billboards are not unaffiliated fan advertising.

Exactly what Spotify and Rockstar are preparing remains unannounced. Neither company has confirmed an in-game Spotify integration, account linking, custom player playlists or any other gameplay feature, despite speculation around those possibilities. The advertising could instead lead to GTA VI soundtrack releases, curated playlists, radio-station playlists or another music-focused promotional initiative outside the game.

The artist campaign itself also does not yet establish the precise role of every musician involved. Some may have tracks on GTA VI radio stations, while others could contribute original music, appear through fictional media or participate only in promotion. Six pieces of coordinated GTA VI artwork had already surfaced through the artist posts before the Spotify advertising began appearing publicly.

Travis Scott has generated particular interest because his teaser included a direct Rockstar Games tag and references that appeared to point toward the Jack of Hearts nightclub in Vice City. His artwork showed purple high heels around a pole, while Future and Metro Boomin were associated with artwork featuring a sports car carrying a Leonida plate. Other images in the campaign include a swimming pool, yacht and iguana, all rendered in a visual style consistent with Rockstar’s GTA VI marketing.

Music has already played a major role in GTA VI’s promotional campaign. Rockstar’s August 27 Extended Look featured tracks spanning hip-hop, electronic music, rock, new wave, Latin music and older pop releases. Songs featured in the presentation subsequently recorded sharp increases in Spotify streams and playlist additions, continuing the long-established effect Grand Theft Auto exposure can have on both contemporary music and older catalog tracks.

Rockstar also has an established relationship with Spotify as a distribution platform for official playlists. The company’s Spotify profile hosts music collections associated with previous Grand Theft Auto titles and Red Dead Redemption 2, while GTA VI promotional music has already been collected through official Rockstar channels. The new physical advertising, however, represents a much more visible collaboration between the brands during GTA VI’s pre-launch campaign.

The timing suggests Rockstar’s music rollout is accelerating as the game approaches release. GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, leaving roughly two months for Rockstar to reveal its radio stations, soundtrack contributors and other music-related features. The company has not yet published a complete artist or song list.

For now, the billboards confirm that Spotify is directly involved in the campaign surrounding the artist artwork, but they do not establish what that partnership will ultimately deliver. With the same imagery now appearing across musician accounts, Spotify’s channels and physical advertising, a more formal GTA VI music announcement appears increasingly likely to be the next step in Rockstar’s rollout.
