Slay the Spire 2 has retained its position as the most-played game on Steam Deck in Valve’s latest monthly rankings, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and Cyberpunk 2077 completing the top three for October 2026.
Valve’s official Steam Deck Top Played chart, covering a rolling period around the end of October, also shows strong performances from newer releases including Final Fantasy Resonance and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. Meanwhile, established favorites such as Stardew Valley, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Balatro remain among the handheld’s most popular games.
The rankings are based on playtime recorded on Steam Deck rather than total Steam sales or concurrent player counts. Because Valve updates its monthly chart on a rolling basis, individual positions can change as the reporting window advances.

Slay the Spire 2 Leads October’s Steam Deck Rankings
Slay the Spire 2 secured first place for another month, maintaining its position ahead of several major RPGs and long-running indie favorites.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered finished second, while Cyberpunk 2077 climbed nine positions to third in Valve’s chart. Stardew Valley and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth completed the top five.
Final Fantasy Resonance made a notable appearance near the top of the rankings. The Square Enix RPG entered the chart’s leading group following its October release, adding to the game’s early PC performance, which included a Steam concurrent-player peak of 42,885.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse also entered the top ten, while Balatro and Skyrim Special Edition continued to attract substantial playtime.

New Releases and Returning Favorites Shape the Rankings
Among October’s notable additions, Final Fantasy Resonance and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse both appeared in the top ten of Valve’s rolling chart, while Dressmaker reached 17th place.
Dressmaker also registered one of the largest upward movements, climbing 32 places in the captured rankings. Skyrim Special Edition gained seven places, while Balatro moved up three positions.
Other established games experienced declines. Valheim dropped seven places to 12th, Palworld fell eight places to 16th, and No Man’s Sky slipped ten positions to 19th.
Further down the chart, Enshrouded appeared at number 33, following the game’s 1.0 release and Steam Deck verification. Risk of Rain 2, HELLDIVERS 2 and Hollow Knight: Silksong were also represented among the 50 most-played titles.
Valve’s Deadlock Joins the Top 50
One of the more unusual appearances was Deadlock, Valve’s multiplayer game, which entered the top 50 despite remaining invite-only.
Deadlock appeared at number 46 in Valve’s rolling chart, demonstrating that the game has attracted enough Steam Deck playtime to rank alongside established releases.
The top 50 also included Warframe, Fallout 4, Dead Cells, Hogwarts Legacy and Forza Horizon 6.
Steam Deck Compatibility Across the Top 50
Of the 50 games examined in the October-end snapshot, 43 carried Steam Deck Verified ratings, six were classified as Playable, and one was unrated.
Steam Deck Verified indicates that a game meets Valve’s compatibility criteria for the handheld, while Playable titles may require additional configuration or involve limitations such as text readability or controller interaction.
The continued presence of both Verified and Playable games highlights the variety of titles appearing in Steam Deck playtime rankings. Compatibility ratings, however, should not be interpreted as guarantees of identical performance across all games.
Valve’s official Steam Deck chart tracks activity over approximately 30 days rather than providing a permanently fixed calendar-month leaderboard. The October-end snapshot covers activity extending into early November, meaning the rankings may differ slightly depending on when the chart is accessed.
The figures provide a snapshot of which games Steam Deck owners spent the most time playing around October 2026, rather than a measure of sales or total PC player activity.
