Sony has announced a new gameplay showcase for Until Dawn 2 on December 11, 2026, at Alamo Drafthouse cinemas. The event will feature exclusive footage from the upcoming PlayStation 5 horror sequel, alongside a horror movie marathon and special guest appearances. PlayStation also confirmed that the presentation will be available through a livestream, allowing fans to watch remotely ahead of the game’s January 28, 2027 release.
The announcement was made through PlayStation’s official social media account on November 2. Sony described the December event as an opportunity to see exclusive gameplay from Until Dawn 2, with additional details about the event and livestream to be announced later.
The presentation will take place at Alamo Drafthouse, the American cinema chain owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Alongside the gameplay showcase, attendees can expect a horror movie marathon and appearances by special guests associated with the event. Sony has not yet identified the guests or provided a complete schedule.
For players unable to attend in person, the confirmed livestream means the new gameplay footage will not be limited to cinema attendees. However, the broadcast time, streaming platforms and ticket arrangements have not yet been detailed.
Until Dawn 2 is being developed by Firesprite, a PlayStation Studios developer, and will launch exclusively on PS5. Rather than continuing the original game’s story with its existing characters, the sequel introduces a new cast and an entirely different setting.
The story follows a group of ghost hunters who travel to a remote island after receiving an opportunity to document a mysterious abandoned resort for a television production. Their investigation forms the basis of another interactive horror adventure in which player decisions can influence the narrative and the fate of individual characters.
Like the original Until Dawn, the sequel emphasizes cinematic storytelling, character relationships and consequential choices. The December presentation is expected to provide a closer look at how Firesprite has implemented those elements in the new setting, although Sony has not specified which gameplay sequences will be shown.
The December 11 showcase takes place approximately seven weeks before Until Dawn 2 launches on January 28, 2027. Its release will fall during an active period for PS5 games, with Forza Horizon 6 scheduled for January 26 and Witchbrook arriving on PS5 on January 28.
Sony has not announced a specific livestream start time or confirmed where the broadcast will be hosted. Further event information is expected before December 11.
