Batman Comes to LEGO Fortnite Odyssey in Knight Shift Event

Batman is coming to LEGO Fortnite Odyssey on September 3 as part of a new six-week event called Knight Shift. Epic Games has officially detailed the crossover, which will bring Gotham City-themed locations, new quests, Batman vehicles, Bat-Gadgets and enemies to the survival mode before concluding on October 15.

The premise sees Batman villains stealing parts of Gotham City and hiding them across the main LEGO Fortnite Odyssey island. Players will be directed toward the new Gotham-themed locations by the Bat-Signal, where they can complete assignments from Batman and fight enemies occupying the areas. Epic says the event will unfold in multiple stages rather than releasing all of its content at once.

The first drop runs from September 3 through September 30. During the opening two weeks, players will complete quests and clear Gotham City locations to unlock Batman-themed equipment and vehicles, while weeks three and four will serve as a catch-up period for unfinished objectives and rewards. The available gear includes the Batglider and Bat Grapnel, while the Bat-Signal will also become part of the new Batman content.

The Batmobile is one of the main vehicle additions arriving with the event. It will be available during the first phase of Knight Shift and can be used around the LEGO Fortnite Odyssey island alongside the other Batman equipment. Epic is also adding The Bat, Batman’s aircraft, although that vehicle is being held for the second content drop beginning October 1.

That second phase runs from October 1 through October 15 and introduces another round of quests during weeks five and six. Completing the later objectives will allow players to earn The Bat and eventually recruit Batman himself as a villager. Epic says players will need to complete the required quests if they want to add Batman to their settlement.

Gotham’s arrival also brings new opponents to the Island. Gotham City-themed locations will be guarded by new henchmen, including Blaster and Slicer variants, giving players additional enemies to deal with while completing Batman’s assignments. The locations are scattered around the existing Odyssey world rather than replacing the entire map with Gotham City.

Knight Shift is therefore considerably broader than a simple cosmetic collaboration. The crossover introduces explorable locations, a multi-week quest structure, vehicles, traversal tools, enemies and a recruitable character, all integrated into LEGO Fortnite Odyssey’s existing survival and building systems. Its structure also gives players several weeks to complete the first set of challenges before the second phase arrives.

Epic has been teasing the Batman crossover ahead of the full announcement, but the September 1 reveal provides the first complete breakdown of how the event will work. The new content forms part of update 42.30, with the initial Knight Shift activities becoming available on September 3.

Batman has appeared in Fortnite through several previous DC collaborations, but Knight Shift focuses specifically on LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and its survival sandbox format. Instead of limiting the crossover to character outfits or Item Shop releases, Epic is bringing Batman’s vehicles, equipment, locations and enemies directly into the mode’s world.

The first phase of LEGO Fortnite Odyssey: Knight Shift begins September 3 and runs through September 30, followed by the second drop from October 1 to October 15. Players who work through the event will be able to collect the Batman-themed gear and vehicles before ultimately recruiting the Dark Knight as a villager.
