CONTROL Resonant will reportedly require an 89.273 GB download on PS5, according to new PlayStation backend data shared by PlayStation Game Size. The tracker also lists version 01.200.000 and preload dates for both of the game’s digital editions. Remedy Entertainment has not officially published the PS5 file size, so the 89.273 GB figure should be treated as backend-derived information rather than a developer-announced specification.
According to the data, the Standard Edition is scheduled to become available for preload on September 22, two days before its September 24 launch. Digital Deluxe Edition buyers can reportedly begin preloading on September 20 ahead of their September 22 early-access unlock. Both editions are listed with a 2 PM UTC release time, matching the unlock times currently displayed on the PlayStation Store.
The release dates themselves are already official. Sony’s PlayStation Store lists the $59.99 Standard Edition for September 24 at 2 PM UTC, while the $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition unlocks on September 22 at the same time. The Deluxe Edition includes 48 hours of early access on PS5, alongside an AWE Mission Outfit, Untapped Artifact wallet item, Starter Resource Bundle, digital artbook and original soundtrack.

That early-access perk is specific to PlayStation 5. Remedy confirmed earlier this year that Xbox Series X|S and PC players buying the Digital Deluxe Edition will still launch on September 24 rather than receiving the additional 48 hours. The PS5 version is also listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced and supports DualSense vibration and trigger effects.
If the backend figure remains unchanged at launch, CONTROL Resonant will be a relatively substantial PS5 download. For comparison, Marvel’s Wolverine was recently listed at 79.36 GB on PS5, putting Remedy’s sequel roughly 10 GB above it based on the current data. Silent Hill: Townfall’s reported 51.172 GB PS5 download is considerably smaller.
The 89.273 GB figure should not necessarily be treated as the final amount of free storage players will need. PlayStation backend sizes can change before launch as builds are updated, while day-one patches and later updates may increase or reduce the installed footprint. The version number attached to the current listing, 01.200.000, likewise represents the build visible in the backend at the time the information was retrieved.
CONTROL Resonant is Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to 2019’s Control and shifts the playable role from Jesse Faden to her brother Dylan. After years of confinement by the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan emerges into a Manhattan distorted by paranatural forces and must confront threats spreading beyond the Oldest House. Combat centers on his developing supernatural abilities and the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee weapon that can transform into different forms during fights.
The sequel is scheduled for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 24. It will also arrive on GeForce NOW as part of Nvidia’s September 2026 cloud gaming lineup, giving PC players another way to access the game without storing the full local installation.
For PS5 owners, the newly surfaced backend data provides the clearest indication yet of what to prepare before launch. Standard Edition buyers are reportedly looking at an 89.273 GB download beginning September 22, while Digital Deluxe owners can preload from September 20 and start playing September 22. Remedy has not independently confirmed the file size or preload dates, but the launch and early-access timing are already reflected on Sony’s official store.
