Epic Games has confirmed that Sora from Kingdom Hearts is coming to Fortnite this week, providing the clearest release timing yet for one of Chapter 7 Season 4’s most anticipated crossovers. The official Fortnite account published a new teaser on September 13 showing Sora in-game and stating that his arrival is happening this week. The footage also confirms that Fortnite is using Sora’s Kingdom Hearts II-era appearance for the crossover.

Sora’s inclusion itself is not a surprise. Epic officially listed Kingdom Hearts among the collaborations planned for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override when the season launched on August 20, alongside crossovers involving franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Persona 5 Royal, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Crash Bandicoot. Epic also confirmed that the Kingdom Key would arrive later in the season, while Kingdom Hearts cosmetics were listed among the outfits and items planned for the Shop.

The new teaser is significant because it narrows that broader seasonal announcement into an immediate release window. Epic has not yet provided an exact day, Item Shop time, V-Bucks price or a complete breakdown of Sora’s cosmetic set, so those details remain unconfirmed for now. The footage nevertheless gives players their first clear look at the version of Sora that will actually appear in Fortnite rather than simply establishing that a Kingdom Hearts crossover is planned.

There had already been additional evidence that Epic’s Kingdom Hearts collaboration was approaching. A Kingdom Hearts Gummi Ship crossover surfaced through Rocket League-related data, including cosmetics and evidence pointing toward connected Fortnite content. Those findings provided more detail around the wider collaboration, but Epic’s latest teaser now removes any uncertainty about whether Sora himself is imminent.

Sora is one of several major gaming characters being introduced during Override, a season built heavily around video game crossovers. Epic’s official season announcement described Chapter 7 Season 4 as a gaming-focused update featuring familiar franchises throughout the map, Item Shop and gameplay systems. Kingdom Hearts is especially notable because the series combines Square Enix characters with Disney properties, making Sora’s Fortnite appearance another crossover involving companies with extensive existing relationships with Epic.

The choice of Sora’s Kingdom Hearts II design also distinguishes the Fortnite version from his more recent appearance in Kingdom Hearts III and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts IV. Square Enix is currently preparing Kingdom Hearts IV for a late 2027 release, with the next mainline game continuing Sora’s story following the events of Kingdom Hearts III. Fortnite’s cosmetic instead draws from an earlier and particularly recognizable point in the character’s history.

Epic has not confirmed whether other Kingdom Hearts characters will receive Fortnite outfits alongside Sora. Donald Duck, Goofy, Riku, Kairi and other major characters have not been announced as playable cosmetics in the new teaser, and speculation about additional skins should therefore remain separate from what Epic has actually shown. Details surrounding possible emotes, back blings, alternate styles and bundles also remain unknown until Epic provides a full cosmetic reveal.

For now, the main development is straightforward: Sora’s Fortnite appearance has moved from a general Season 4 promise to an official launch window of this week. With his Kingdom Hearts II look now shown directly by Epic, the remaining questions concern the exact release date, pricing and what else will be included when the Kingdom Hearts set reaches the Item Shop.
