Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton has been delayed from its previously announced 2026 release window to 2027. Shueisha Games confirmed the schedule change on September 15, saying the extra development time is intended to help deliver the game in a better state. A specific 2027 release date has not yet been announced.

The multiplayer survival game is being developed by poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors, and will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Rather than simply recreating Vampire Survivors with Jujutsu Kaisen characters, the project is built as what the developers call a “survivors royale,” combining automatic attacks and escalating builds with competitive multiplayer.

Matches support up to eight players online, with a solo mode also included. Players fight waves of Cursed Spirits, gain experience, build their loadouts and compete for points while trying to outscore rival sorcerers. Once the match reaches its final stage, the top two players advance into a one-on-one confrontation that determines the winner.

A central system called Rule Addition activates when players reach 100 points and can disrupt opponents or shift the balance of a match. Individual characters also have their own special techniques, including recognizable Jujutsu Kaisen abilities such as Domain Expansion and Black Flash. These attacks can affect nearby rivals and create opportunities to directly interfere with other players during a run.

Shueisha Games says the roster will include more than 20 playable characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, each with different skills and playstyles. Fighters are unlocked by meeting specific conditions, while bosses can appear during matches and complicate the usual fight between players and Cursed Spirits. The newly released second trailer also shows eight boss characters, including Naoya Zenin, Kenjaku, Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso and Toji Fushiguro.

The trailer also gives a closer look at the game’s build system. As characters level up, players can strengthen their own attacks or incorporate standard techniques associated with other characters into their loadout. Shueisha Games describes this as a cooperative-style build system, allowing players to combine abilities from across the Jujutsu Kaisen cast rather than relying only on one character’s default kit.

Despite the delay, the game will be playable publicly very soon. Shueisha Games is bringing the world’s first hands-on playtest for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton to Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 through September 21. The version on display will include eight-player online battle royale matches and is still being adjusted based on character balance and overall game feel.

Attendees will also be able to provide feedback through a survey after playing. That makes the Tokyo Game Show build an important development milestone despite the release moving into 2027, since poncle and Shueisha Games will be gathering direct player feedback well ahead of launch. The publisher has not said whether any public beta or online test outside the event is planned.

The delay makes Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton one of several games recently pushed into 2027, including Chronoscript : The Endless End and DECAPOLICE. In this case, however, Shueisha Games has only given a general quality-focused reason for the schedule change rather than citing technical problems, production constraints or platform-specific issues.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton was first announced in June 2026 with a release planned for later that year. Its new launch window is simply 2027, with pricing still to be announced. The game will support Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
