Capcom has released a new main trailer and fresh screenshots for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen ahead of its October 9 launch. The latest footage gives another extended look at the expansion’s snowy Norgan region, combat encounters and new adventure content as Capcom enters the final weeks before release. Dark Arisen is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.

The expansion sends the Arisen north into Norgan, a long-abandoned region filled with frozen ruins, hostile creatures and the remnants of an ancient conflict. Players will work alongside the mysterious Eir while investigating the Fallen Dragon and uncovering relics scattered throughout the area. Capcom has positioned Norgan as a substantial new location rather than a small side area added onto the existing map.

Those relics form one of Dark Arisen’s central progression systems. Players venture beyond the Norgandian Settlement, recover unidentified relics and return them for appraisal, potentially receiving stronger weapons, armor and additional abilities. Capcom recently gave that structure a deeper explanation through the Relic Expedition gameplay cycle, which requires players to prepare supplies and equipment before making repeated journeys into the surrounding wilderness.

The region introduces several new threats built around its colder environment. Capcom has previously revealed Beorcan warriors, the ice-breathing Norgan Giant and Fimbl, an ice dragon capable of guarding particularly valuable relics. Some rewards can also be found through exploration rather than combat, with abandoned settlements and caves containing items for players willing to investigate away from established paths.

Dark Arisen will also add 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges across the wider Dragon’s Dogma 2 world. These dungeons are described as trials created by the Pathfinder and are designed to test established builds while offering rare equipment associated with previous Arisen. The expansion therefore adds new activities both inside Norgan and throughout areas players may already have explored in the base game.

Capcom has spent the months leading up to Dark Arisen making broader changes to Dragon’s Dogma 2 itself. The first free update expanded fast-travel options by adding an Eternal Ferrystone and additional Portcrystals, while a later update focused more heavily on performance and combat flexibility. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update 3.2 added new 60FPS options, multiple save slots and expanded the number of assignable Weapon Skills, alongside additional performance and balance adjustments.

Character customization is also being expanded with additional hairstyles and tattoo options for both the Arisen and their main Pawn. Players who already own Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC will be able to purchase the Dark Arisen expansion separately rather than buying the full package again. Nintendo Switch 2 players will instead receive Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the expansion together when the game makes its debut on the platform.

Capcom previously priced the standalone Dark Arisen expansion at $29.99, while the complete Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen package is listed at $49.99. Pre-orders include the Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire, while pre-ordering the complete package on supported existing platforms also grants access to Dragon’s Dogma 2 before the expansion launches. Availability and pricing can vary by region and storefront.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 originally launched in March 2024 and has since received multiple updates addressing performance, quality-of-life features and player feedback. Capcom said in June that the wider Dragon’s Dogma series had surpassed 14 million units sold as of March 31, 2026, while describing Dark Arisen as part of an effort to make the sequel more accessible and broaden its audience.

The new main trailer is the latest major promotional push before Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen arrives on October 9. With Norgan, relic expeditions, new enemies, dungeon challenges and extensive base-game improvements all forming part of the release, Capcom is positioning the expansion as both a continuation of the Arisen’s journey and a substantial refresh for returning players.
