Capcom has released Dragon’s Dogma 2 Title Update 3.2, delivering one of the game’s largest overhauls since launch with improved performance, multiple save slots, expanded Weapon Skill loadouts and extensive combat adjustments. The update is available now across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, arriving just over a month before the Dark Arisen expansion launches on October 9. Capcom also released new footage showing how Dark Arisen’s Relic Expedition gameplay loop works.
Performance is one of the headline improvements. Capcom now targets 60 FPS in Prioritize Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while Xbox Series S targets 45 FPS in its equivalent mode. PS5 Pro also targets 60 FPS in Performance mode at a 2160p output while using Enhanced PSSR, with its graphics-focused mode targeting around 45 FPS. Capcom says the update combines game-engine changes with broader optimization work across supported platforms.
PC players receive their own substantial set of graphics options, including settings for volumetric fog resolution, cloudscape resolution, foliage density, terrain quality, ray-traced global illumination, effect reflections and swaying grass. A new CPU Saving Mode and NPC Culling setting have also been added, while the graphics menu can now display available graphics memory. Capcom has additionally revised the game’s PC system requirements following the optimization work.

The save system has undergone an equally significant redesign. Each Arisen can now use three separate save slots rather than being restricted to a single playthrough, with each slot maintaining Autosave, Interim Save and Last Inn Rest Save data. Loading an inn save will also no longer erase the other two save types, addressing a longstanding source of frustration when players needed to roll back their progress.
Combat has been expanded by increasing the number of assignable Weapon Skills from four to six. Individual vocations have also received balance changes, including increased damage for the Archer’s Dire Arrow and revisions to Front Kick and Leaping Punt, while Thief, Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer abilities are among those receiving mechanical or stamina adjustments. Unarmed combat has gained Dash and Charge attacks as well, alongside revisions to grabbing, clinging and interactions with large enemies.
Capcom has also reworked several enemy behaviors and combat interactions. Tracking has been adjusted for attacks used by multiple Goblin and Saurian variants, holy damage has been increased against certain undead enemies, and Pawns should position themselves more appropriately when fighting Slimes and related creatures. Drakes, Minotaurs and several other enemy types receive targeted behavior adjustments intended to make encounters clearer or more manageable.
Dragonsplague is another system receiving further attention. Update 3.2 adds the Dragonsbaulk Draught, giving players a direct method of curing the affliction, along with corresponding Pawn dialogue and tutorials. Capcom had previously explained that it wanted Dragonsplague to present a clearer strategic choice by retaining its benefits for afflicted Pawns while also giving players more practical ways to respond to the condition.
The update lands as Capcom increases promotion for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. A newly released gameplay video focuses on the Norgan region and its Relic Expedition cycle, where players venture outside the Norgandian Settlement to defeat monsters, explore abandoned locations and recover unidentified relics. Those relics can then be brought back to Jiera for appraisal, potentially producing weapons and armor with different statistics, abilities and skill-enhancing properties.
The upcoming expansion also includes major new content beyond those expeditions. Capcom has previously detailed [[LINK|https://www.techtroduce.com/dragons-dogma-2-dark-arisen-relic-expedition/|Dark Arisen’s Relic Expedition system]], including its new enemies, equipment progression and exploration structure. Dark Arisen adds the new Norgan region alongside additional story content and will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as an expansion, while the Nintendo Switch 2 release combines the base game and new content.
Title Update 3.2 therefore functions as more than a routine pre-expansion patch. Its changes address several of the most frequently criticized aspects of Dragon’s Dogma 2, particularly performance, limited save flexibility and the four-skill combat restriction. With Dark Arisen arriving October 9, Capcom is using the update to substantially revise the base game before players move into its next major expansion.
