GungHo Online Entertainment has announced and released Chit Chat Party, a new communication-focused party game built for Nintendo Switch 2. The game is available digitally now for $9.99 and centers on three cooperative activities designed around players talking to one another through Nintendo’s GameChat feature. Up to four participants can take part, with solo Practice Mode and spectator functionality also included.

The three activities are Watermelon Bash, Delivery Dash and Ghost Hunt, each using communication in a different way. Rather than presenting a large collection of traditional competitive minigames, Chit Chat Party focuses on situations where players receive different information or responsibilities and must coordinate verbally. The result is a smaller package built specifically around the Switch 2’s communication features.

Watermelon Bash has one player attempting to reach and strike a watermelon while effectively relying on directions from another participant. The guiding player must communicate where the target is located while the active player follows those instructions without being able to rely normally on their own view of the objective. GungHo describes precise directions and the player’s instincts as the central challenge.

Delivery Dash divides responsibilities differently, assigning one participant the map while another player handles deliveries. The pair must communicate directions and navigate toward their destinations while working against the clock. The mode is therefore designed around one player having information the other needs, making clear communication more important than simply controlling a character well.

Ghost Hunt shifts the concept into a spooky mansion filled with hidden ghosts. Players can use security cameras to locate the creatures before coordinating with teammates to deal with them. While the three activities differ mechanically, all of them follow the same basic idea of separating information and actions between players to encourage conversation.

GameChat is central to that design. Nintendo introduced the system with Switch 2 as a way for players to communicate while gaming, with compatible titles able to build communication more directly into their multiplayer structure. Chit Chat Party is explicitly designed around that functionality rather than treating voice communication as an optional feature layered on top of otherwise conventional multiplayer.

The game also includes a Practice Mode for solo players who want to learn how each activity works before joining others. Spectator support allows players who are not currently participating directly to watch ongoing sessions and cheer on their friends, while the overall session still supports up to four participants. That gives groups some flexibility when rotating between activities or when not everyone wants to play simultaneously.

Chit Chat Party arrives during a period of broader expansion for GungHo’s publishing lineup. The company also recently unveiled B.L.U.E . NOVA, a free-to-play cooperative shooter planned for PC in 2027, although the two projects are very different in scale and audience. Chit Chat Party instead represents a smaller Switch 2 release built closely around one of the console’s platform-specific social features.

The surprise launch also means there is no wait between the game’s announcement and availability. GungHo revealed the title on September 16 and released it digitally the same day, rather than announcing a later launch date or opening pre-orders. No physical edition has been announced.

Chit Chat Party is available now for Nintendo Switch 2. Its three included activities—Watermelon Bash, Delivery Dash and Ghost Hunt—support cooperative communication through GameChat, while Practice Mode and spectator functionality provide additional options for solo players and groups.
