Persona 5 Royal’s Morgana will reportedly have two separate roles in Fortnite, appearing as both a Sidekick cosmetic and an in-match Sprite with a healing-focused ability. Fortnite leaker HYPEX says the Morgana Sidekick is included alongside Joker and Ann Takamaki, while a separate Sprite version can be found during gameplay. The Sprite reportedly increases the effectiveness of healing items as it levels up, eventually doubling their effect at maximum level.
According to HYPEX, Morgana’s healing bonus progresses through five levels at 15%, 30%, 50%, 75% and 100%. That means the highest-level version would make healing items twice as effective under the leaked values, potentially giving Morgana a meaningful utility role beyond simply representing Persona 5 on the map. Epic Games has not publicly detailed those percentages, so the numbers should be treated as datamined information until the update is live or official patch information confirms them.
The healing ability fits Morgana’s role in Persona 5, where the Phantom Thief specializes heavily in recovery skills alongside Wind attacks. Fortnite has increasingly used crossover Sprites to translate recognizable character traits into gameplay effects rather than treating every collaboration exclusively as cosmetics. Recent files already showed Morgana and Crash Bandicoot Sprites appearing in-game, and reporting around the September 17 update indicates dozens of new Sprite variants are being added.
Morgana’s Sprite is distinct from the Sidekick version. Sprites are collectible gameplay creatures that provide abilities and become stronger as players level them during matches, while Sidekicks are cosmetic companions that follow players without providing a competitive advantage. The newly surfaced material therefore appears to show Epic using two separate Morgana models for two different systems rather than a single asset serving both purposes.
HYPEX also says the Morgana Sidekick will be associated with Joker and Ann Takamaki, whose Fortnite cosmetics have now been exposed through the v42.20 files. Datamined information has already detailed Joker and Ann’s Fortnite outfits and additional Persona 5 cosmetics, including alternate styles and mask-related options. The exact purchasing structure for Morgana has not yet been officially announced, so it remains unclear whether the Sidekick will be included with individual character purchases, a larger bundle or another shop configuration.
Ann’s involvement has been emerging progressively through the update’s files. Earlier evidence connected her to a Morgana Bus decal carrying her Panther identity, while subsequent datamining exposed her full Outfit alongside Joker. Morgana appearing as both a companion and gameplay Sprite now gives the Persona crossover a broader footprint than the first Joker-focused teasers suggested.
Persona 5 Royal itself is officially part of Fortnite’s current Override season. Atlus has promoted the crossover through its official channels, including Persona-themed Fortnite imagery, but the publisher and Epic have not yet publicly broken down every cosmetic, bundle or gameplay ability contained in the collaboration. That distinction is important because Morgana’s precise Sidekick availability and healing percentages currently come from leaked game data rather than a formal announcement.
Morgana will not be the only crossover Sprite in the September update. Datamined additions also include Crash Bandicoot and Pac-Man’s Blinky, alongside numerous original Fortnite variants. Each uses a different effect, suggesting Epic is increasingly treating Sprites as a flexible gameplay system that can incorporate licensed characters without requiring them to become traditional player Outfits.
If the leaked values remain unchanged at release, Morgana could become one of the more practically useful crossover Sprites because his bonus applies directly to healing items players already carry. A 100% effectiveness increase at maximum level would be substantial, although balance values found before an update can still be adjusted by Epic. The Persona 5 crossover’s cosmetic and gameplay additions are expected to become clearer once Fortnite’s v42.20 content is fully available.
