Serenity Forge has revealed Faraday Blues, a surreal science-fiction adventure built around three interconnected visual novels and 64 possible endings. The game made its world premiere during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast and is scheduled to launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with Xbox Cloud support. A specific release date has not yet been announced.

Faraday Blues follows Lina, a mysterious girl who wakes in an unfamiliar place and discovers an old computer connected to a tabletop covered in playing cards. Two of those cards depict her parents, but they do not know who she is, and their lives are already shaped by a series of tragedies. Lina responds by repeatedly resetting the board and attempting to change what happened to them.

The cards are central to how Faraday Blues works, but they are not used for conventional combat. Serenity Forge says the game revolves around a 52-card deck containing characters, memories, items and pieces of the Faraday family’s history. Players place character cards into conversations, locations and important events before entering the resulting timeline to see how those decisions reshape the story.

Changing a seemingly small detail can produce consequences much later. Moving one character away from a location may prevent one tragedy while leaving someone else alone when another event occurs, while allowing characters to discover particular memories or objects can influence their behavior decades later. Relationships, character states and other changes can persist as players move through the game’s different eras.

Characters can also shift toward Order or Entropy, change card suits and transform in ways that open or close future possibilities. Serenity Forge says the system is deliberately designed around the limitation that a person cannot be in multiple places at once. As a result, helping one relationship or intervening in one event can prevent the same character from taking part somewhere else, forcing players to choose which outcomes matter most.

The larger story is divided across three interconnected visual novels, each representing a different era of the Faraday family. Every section has its own visual identity, atmosphere, narrative style and version of the apartment players explore, but the three are not independent stories. Choices made in the first reality carry into the second, while relationships, memories, items, character states and endings can continue affecting events all the way into the third era.

Across those timelines are 64 endings. Game director and Serenity Forge founder Zhenghua Yang says some can be considered victories, but many involve trade-offs where solving one tragedy creates another. Certain paths will only become possible after players have learned enough about the characters and their histories to manipulate the timeline in ways that were unavailable during earlier attempts.

The project is being created by Yang alongside co-creator and lead artist Satchely, known for character artwork on Doki Doki Literature Club, and narrative director Kevin Ye. Kris Wilson, creator of Cyanide & Happiness, is composing music for the game, while Nichole Goodnight, known for voicing the protagonist in Slay the Princess, is also part of the cast. Serenity Forge says additional voice actors will be revealed later.

The studio is also keeping some mechanics deliberately unexplained. Yang has referenced card transformations, hidden conditions and other systems that the team is not yet ready to detail, suggesting the 52-card structure contains more than the placement mechanics shown during the reveal. The emphasis, however, remains on repeatedly rewriting the same family history and seeing how consequences accumulate across generations.

Faraday Blues is currently planned for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC in 2027, with Xbox Cloud support also confirmed. Serenity Forge has not announced versions for PlayStation or Nintendo platforms, nor has it provided pricing or a narrower release window. The game is available to wishlist following its Tokyo Game Show reveal.
