Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the Prism Collection, a new range of transparent DualSense wireless controllers and PlayStation 5 console covers available in three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. The accessories will launch starting February 4, 2027, with pre-orders opening November 10, 2026.

The collection was unveiled on October 28 through the official PlayStation Blog by Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Each design features translucent materials that partially reveal the hardware beneath, bringing a transparent aesthetic to Sony’s current-generation console accessories.

The three color options offer different finishes while sharing the same transparent design approach. Flare Orange features a vibrant orange appearance that develops a subtle rosy tint where the translucent materials overlap. Emerald Green uses a deeper green finish, while Graphite Gray offers a cooler, muted appearance.

Sony says the designs were inspired by the popularity of transparent gaming hardware from the late 1990s. The company’s Color, Material, and Finish design team developed the accessories with a glossy exterior and contrasting metallic elements.

The DualSense controllers feature transparent material extending across the rear shell, allowing parts of the internal hardware to remain visible. A metallic finish on the controller’s middle section provides contrast between the translucent surfaces.

Leo Cardoso, a member of Sony’s design team, explained that the company wanted to revisit the transparent-controller trend while adapting it to the PS5’s existing design language. Fellow designer Satoshi Aoyagi highlighted the use of overlapping transparent materials and a high-gloss finish to create depth across the three colors.

Sony has confirmed that the Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers will cost $84.99 in the United States, €84.99 in Europe, £74.99 in the United Kingdom, and ¥12,480 in Japan, including tax.

The matching PS5 console covers will carry a recommended retail price of $74.99 in the United States, €74.99 in Europe, £64.99 in the United Kingdom, and ¥9,980 in Japan, including tax.

Unlike the controllers, which Sony plans to distribute globally, the console covers will have more restricted availability. They will be sold exclusively through PlayStation’s direct retail channels in supported markets, with limited quantities available through selected retailers in other regions.

Pre-orders begin November 10, 2026. Customers in the United States can order directly from PlayStation starting at 7:00 AM Pacific Time or 10:00 AM Eastern Time. In supported European markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, direct pre-orders begin at 10:00 AM local time.

Both controllers and console covers are scheduled to become available starting February 4, 2027, although Sony notes that exact release dates and availability may differ between countries.

The Prism Collection expands Sony’s range of PS5 customization accessories with matching translucent controller and console-cover options. Sony has not announced any changes to the DualSense controller’s functionality or hardware specifications as part of the new designs.

The announcement also comes ahead of several upcoming PS5 releases, including Forza Horizon 6's January 26, 2027 launch, giving players another accessory option for their existing consoles.

Sony has not specified which PS5 console models are compatible with the new covers in its announcement. Buyers will need to confirm model compatibility and regional availability before purchasing.
