Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Season 2 Reloaded update, launched on February 20, promised to deliver a fresh wave of content for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. However, it seems the mid-season refresh has also unleashed a wave of frustration, particularly for PlayStation 5 users.

Players have flooded social media with complaints about severe FPS drops and performance issues in Black Ops 6, turning what should have been an exciting update into a headache for many.

Since the update went live, PS5 players have reported significant performance problems, with many experiencing drastic drops in FPS. Social media posts and forums are filled with accounts of stuttering gameplay, making matches nearly unplayable for some.

The problem appears to be particularly pronounced on the newly remastered Grind map, a fan-favorite from Black Ops 2. Some players speculate that the map’s design or optimization might be to blame, while others report similar issues across all maps in the game.

Even PS5 Pro users aren’t immune, with Reddit user Maneii99 sharing their struggles with FPS drops in Black Ops 6 on the upgraded console.

While Multiplayer and Zombies fans received a slew of new content, Warzone players were left disappointed. The battle royale mode saw practically no new additions in Season 2 Reloaded, as Activision shifted its focus to addressing long-standing issues like bugs, glitches, and rampant cheating.

Although the decision to prioritize fixes over fresh content was welcomed by many, the lack of updates has left Warzone feeling stagnant for some players.

To make matters worse, the Season 2 Reloaded update introduced new problems. Shortly after its release, Treyarch Studios had to roll out another patch to address unintended issues, such as weapon balancing changes not functioning as intended. The studio also reenabled the challenge tracker widget, which had been disabled in the initial update, and tackled various stability issues.

    Verdansk Returns To Warzone Soon

Amid the chaos, dataminers uncovered exciting leaks about Season 3, including the addition of Verdansk to Warzone’s in-game files. The iconic map, a fan favorite since its debut, is set to make a grand return in Spring 2025.

While Activision has yet to confirm an exact release date, rumors suggest it could arrive as early as Season 3 in March. The leaks have sparked excitement among players, offering a glimmer of hope after the rocky Season 2 Reloaded rollout.

Call of Duty’s Future Would No Longer Be Decided By Developers

For now, PS5 players are left hoping for a swift fix to the performance issues plaguing Black Ops 6. Treyarch Studios has yet to officially address the frame rate problems, but the growing outcry from the community suggests a patch may be on the horizon.

In the meantime, players are left to navigate the stuttering gameplay and dream of smoother matches—and the eventual return of Verdansk.

As Call of Duty continues to evolve, the Season 2 Reloaded update serves as a reminder that even the biggest franchises aren’t immune to technical hiccups. For now, the community’s patience is being tested, but the promise of future updates and the return of beloved content keeps hope alive.
