Thermal Grizzly has introduced PhaseSheet PTM Pro, a new thermal interface sheet designed for processors and graphics chips. Announced on November 3, 2026, the product builds on the original PhaseSheet PTM with a revised material formulation that the manufacturer says improves thermal conductivity, alongside redesigned protective films intended to make installation easier.
The new sheet uses phase-change material (PCM), which remains solid at room temperature but begins to liquefy when temperatures exceed 45°C. During operation, the material spreads between the processor or GPU and its cooler, transferring heat in a similar manner to conventional thermal paste.
Unlike traditional thermal paste, PhaseSheet PTM Pro arrives as a solid sheet that can be positioned on the contact surface before installing the cooler. Thermal Grizzly says the material is electrically non-conductive, making it suitable for a range of CPU and GPU cooling applications.

One of the main improvements over the original PhaseSheet PTM is its redesigned carrier film. According to Thermal Grizzly, the protective films can now be removed more easily from both sides, reducing the likelihood of accidentally tearing the thermal sheet during installation.
The manufacturer also claims that its optimized material composition delivers higher thermal conductivity than the previous version. However, it has not provided comparative temperature benchmarks in its announcement, so the extent of any real-world cooling improvement remains unverified.
Another important characteristic is the material’s resistance to the pump-out effect, a problem that can affect traditional thermal pastes after repeated heating and cooling cycles.
As processors and graphics chips heat up during operation, differences in thermal expansion between silicon, copper and other materials can cause the contacting surfaces to change shape slightly. Over time, these repeated changes can push conventional thermal paste away from the contact area, potentially reducing its effectiveness.
Thermal Grizzly explains that PhaseSheet PTM Pro maintains low viscosity in its liquid state and contracts again as it solidifies during cooling. The company says these properties help limit material displacement and maintain thermal contact over repeated temperature cycles.
This characteristic is particularly relevant to graphics cards, where GPU chips frequently operate in direct contact with copper cooler bases. Maintaining effective thermal contact over time is an important consideration for high-performance gaming graphics cards and systems undergoing GPU maintenance.
There are installation requirements to consider. Thermal Grizzly specifies that approximately 300–400 N of mounting force is needed to distribute the liquefied material optimally and achieve a thin thermal interface layer. Users replacing thermal paste should therefore consider their cooler’s mounting mechanism and the manufacturer’s installation guidance.
PhaseSheet PTM Pro is available through Thermal Grizzly’s official online store in a 40 × 40 mm sheet, identified by product number TG-PS-P-40-40. The manufacturer’s US storefront lists the product at $23.28, although regional pricing and shipping costs may differ.
The new release gives PC enthusiasts another phase-change thermal interface option for CPU cooling and GPU maintenance. While Thermal Grizzly claims improved conductivity and easier handling compared with the original PhaseSheet PTM, independent testing will be needed to establish how much of a temperature difference the revised material delivers in actual hardware.
