The studio’s update signals continued long-term support for the game, alongside broader plans to refresh the wider Hollow Knight catalogue heading into 2026.

Building on the momentum of Hollow Knight: SIlksong sales, which have now surpassed seven million purchases in addition to a large Xbox Game Pass audience, Team Cherry confirmed that the game’s first major expansion is already in development.
New Areas, Bosses, and Tools for Hornet
The free update, titles Sea of Sorrow, will introduce new areas, bosses, tools, and challenges through a nautical-themed continuation of Hornet’s journey, slated to arrive in 2026.
Alongside Silksong’s expansion, the studio revealed a Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 edition featuring higher frame rates, increased resolutions, and added visual effects, with a free upgrade planned for existing Switch owners.
New Silksong Mini-Figurines Released
Updates and bug fixes are also being rolled out across all current platforms, with PC players already able to test improvements—including ultrawide aspect ratio support—via public betas on Steam and GOG.
Rounding out the announcement, new Silksong mini-figurines have been unveiled through Fangamer, while Team Cherry teased additional plans for 2026 after a short development task.
